I am explosive, corrosive, and salty.

My Self-Summary

Well to start with I am really bad at talking about myself. I couldn't even think of three adjectives to describe myself so asked my best friend, who provided the above. Bless her.

What I’m doing with my life

Probably wasting it on the computer. I work in commercial insurance, which I am sure would be Dante's 8th level of hell were he alive today, and I am a perpetual student. I started with science when I left scool and am now doing law and arts (history, politics and philosophy).

I’m really good at

Eating chips.

And laughing at myself.

The first things people usually notice about me

Hmm... I actually have no idea. I have never asked anyone what the first thing they noticed about me was. But I might try it from now on, it seems like a good icebreaker.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I have a feeling that this is the bit that I am going to constantly re-edit, so please keep in mind that this is fairly fluid, and is likely to morph.

BOOKS... can I just say writers?: PG Woodehouse, Evelyn Waugh, Saki, Firbank, Hunter S Thompson, Tim Cahill, Lewis Caroll, Oscar Wilde, Robert Newman, Peter Singer, Steven Pinker, Bill Bryson, Sylvia Plath, Thomas Hardy, William Burroughs, Jack Kerouac... more to come....

MOVIES: Wes Anderson. Love. Bill Murray. Love love.

TELEVISION: I actually don't own one, but I do download a lot. Peep Show, Alan Partridge, Monkey Dust, Human Remains, The Young Ones, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, People Like Us, Black Books, Spaced, Dark Place, Arrested Development, Futurama, Blackadder, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Comic Strip, Ripping Yarns, Mighty Boosh, Nathan Barley, Bruiser, Mitchell and Webb Look and Situation, Coogan's Run, Human Remains, Oz, Nighty Night, Marion and Geoff, League of Gentlemen, Big Train, Red Dwarf

MUSIC: Very tricky. In handy alphabetical order (random scrolling through ipod), and in no way an exhaustive list....

Bach, Beach Boys, Beatles, Beck, Beethoven, Belle and Sebastian, Billie Holiday, Billy Bragg, Black Flag, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Bridget Bardot, Cat Power, Cat Stevens, Charley Patton, Chuck Berry, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Count Ossie, The Cribs, The Cure, David Bowie, Dead Kennedys, Dead Milkmen, Django Reinhardt, Donovan, Edith Piaf, Elastica, Ella Fitzgerald, Elliott Smith, Elvis Costello, Emitt Rhodes, Fairport Convention, The Fall, Fats Domino, Feist, Fiona Apple, Fleet Foxes, France Gall, Frenzal Rhomb, Fryderyk Chopin, The Fugs, Galaxie 500, Gillian Welch, Gogol Bordello, Goran Bregovic, Hefner, Herman Dune, Iggy Pop, Janis Joplin, Jeffrey Lewis, Jello Biafra, Jimi Hendrix, joan Jett, Johnny Cash, Joni Mitchell, Kaiser Chiefs, Kimya Dawson, Kings of Leon, The Kinks, Kulture Shock, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Ladytron, Laura Marling, Led Zeppelin, Leonard Cohen, Levellers, Link Wray, Lou Reed, M. The six things I could never do without

These are things that I could actually do without, but really really really wouldn't want to:

My Family
My Friends
Music
Laughter
My Legs
Chips

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I actually spend a lot of time thinking about the things I should be doing. In fact, if I spent a quarter of the time I spend thinking about the things I should be doing actually doing the things, then I would have a lot more time to think about other stuff alltogether.

On a typical Friday night I am

I am usually with my friends. We might just cook dinner and relax after the week, or go out and see a band, or go and have a few drinks, or practice a quiet satanic ritual... there is really no set agenda for a 'typical' Friday night.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

My bank account number is 064159-007396

And to any Senegalese businessmen: I would be delighted to help you move your dead grandfather's millions of dollars to Australia, but for my time and effort in the exchange I feel it only fair to be compensated. Shall we say... 10%?
