Books:
I always enjoyed dark,
post-apocalyptic fiction novels
or movies. So if i have to pick one, i enjoyed this one the
most:
Max Brooks: World War Z - an oral history of the zombie
war
I also like SOME fantasy book/movie series like
Song of Ice and Fire
or
Lord of
the Rings. (stone me if you want, but i started reading both of
them after i saw the first movie/episode of the series).
Movies:
Besides almost any (watchable) post-apoc movie, i also use to
follow series like
Big Bang Theory or
IT Crowd, but as i
mentioned earlier i'm a huge fan of cartoons like
South Park,
Korgoth of Barbaria,
Dick Figures,
Clerks - The Animated
series (and anything else related to
Jay & Silent Bob)
and
The
Boondocks (even if i don't really like anime/manga-style
cartoons, comics & whatever in general. The Boondocks is the
only exception).
Music:
I grew up on rock music.
I think this statement covers most of the story.
One of my hobbies is collecting music related to any kind of
rock/punk/metal genre. It might sound a little bit strange first,
but i really like those bands who are trying to tear down the walls
between music genres, like
ska-core,
reggae-metal, almost any kind of
folk rock music,
especially
Celtic
punk.
But i also enjoy almost everything related to punk rock or various
genres of metal (mainly
Trash metal, older & new ones
alike) from
Hardcore to
Metalcore all the way through
Djent or some
progressive
stuff, i even found myself listening to
ska a few times.
just a few examples:
AC/DC, Airbourne, Alestorm, Amon Amarth, Anthrax, Blood for
Blood, Breakdown of Sanity, Capdown, Chimaira, Clawfinger, Comeback
Kid, Deep Purple, Dropkick Murphys, Eluveitie, Firkin, Flatfoot 56,
Flogging Molly, Gojira, Hatebreed, Hatesphere, Heart of a Coward,
Happy ol' McWeasel, Heidevolk, Jaya the Cat, Korpiklaani, Lamb of
God, Madball, Molotov Solution, Neck Sprain, Novadriver, Paddy and
the Rats, Pantera, Poison Idea, Psycho Choke, Psychostick, Random
Hand, Red Fang, Sepultura, Sir Reg, Soulfly, Ten Masked Men, The
Casualties, The Dreadnoughts, The Ghost Inside, The Real McKenzies,
The Rumjacks, Thin Lizzy, Throwdown, Watch My Dying.
I'm gonna run out of space if i dont stop, so if you're interested,
and wanna talk about music, throw me a mail. :)
Games:
If it comes to gaming, i consider myself a strategist. RTS, TBS,
boardgames, browser games - name anything, i'm in.
My favorite
Real-Time Strategy series is
Command
& Conquer, especially the ones which followed original
storyline (Tiberian Sun /*best post-apoc RTS ever made */,
Firestorm, Tiberium Wars, etc C&C4 was a piece of crap
though.)
In the
Turn-Based category i'd go for the
Civilization
series. If you play it, i don't have to explain anything, and those
who don't (but still interested) possibly gonna have to google it
up anyways, since i don't have the space to write my own game
review here. :P
I use to play
Risk
and/or
Settlers of Catan marathons
with my friends on the weekends.
I also played
browser/text-based online strategy
games for years, like
Hódító (a.k.a.
Queosia), and
Stronghold
Kingdoms (okay, the last one needs a small client to play, but
the rules are similar).
Food:
i eat what i
find.
