I am independent, adventurous, and curious.
My Self-Summary
"Some muffins are baking in an oven. One muffin turns to another
and says, 'Man, it's really hot in here.' The muffin replies, 'Holy
crap! A talking muffin!' "
My friends once wrote a personal ad for me: "Enjoys the simple
things in life, like friends and good conversation. Heavy drinker."
Take of that what you will.
When not wreaking havoc on the greater Cambridge/Somerville area
with my antics (sober and otherwise), I engage in the scholarly
pursuit of finding all things true and meaningful in biological
systems. I spend my free time
rock-climbing, going to local
indie rock
shows, and hanging out with friends. I really enjoy meeting new
people and doing adventurous things. I regularly escape this locale
in search of more exotic places and love
traveling, both by myself or with
like-minded vagabonds.
I'm pretty shy and sometimes take a little time to warm up to
people, but once I've decided I like you, we'll be total BFFs. You
don't have to thank me for this benevolence, but in advance, you're
welcome.
What I’m doing with my life
Making a fool of myself and not caring, living it up with friends,
adventure and exploration, good times with fun people
Following in the grand tradition of Mr. Charles Darwin and pursuing
a Ph.D in
Biology.
Very generally, I study the
evolutionary ecology of non-native,
invasive plants and their evolutionary impact on native species. I
spend a lot of time in the summer tramping around forests in New
England, and a lot of time in the winter writing and teaching
freshman introductory biology lab stuff.
I’m really good at
Artistic things (
painting,
drawing,
painting pottery), cutting a
rug on the dance floor, picking music at dive bar jukeboxes, making
awesome mix CDs, sarcasm, science (theoretically at least),
napping, establishing appropriate boundaries in relationships
The first things people usually notice about me
My "funny-looking" glasses. My (obnoxiously) loud laugh. I fidget
and gesticulate a lot.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food

White Stripes, Pink Mountaintops, The Black Keys, Dan Auerbach,

The six things I could never do without
1.
Books, 2.
Best friends,
3. soap, 4. my iPod, 5. adventure, 6. stimuli
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My next meal. And planning my next expedition to the rock climbing
gym.
Oh yeah, and my place in the universe.
On a typical Friday night I am
Escaping from work to have dinner with friends, or meeting friends
at
dive bars. I
also like to go to local indie rock shows, mostly at the Middle
East or TT the Bear's, though sometimes I venture out to the
Paradise. If I'm not out on a Friday night, then I'm usually
recovering from a long week at work with a night in
reading.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I brush my teeth in the shower.
I like silly things like kids' jokes and Spongebob Squarepants.
You should message me if
You like any of the following:
1. Silly jokes
2. Old sketches from Monty Python and the Flying Circus
3. Sketches from SNL, Mad TV or Whitest Kids U Know
4. Drinking beer at shitty bars
5. Adventure
6. Not killing chicks you meet online
Number 6 is probably the most important on that list.
