My self-summary
Jack of all trades, Master of none. I'd like to think of myself as random parts carpenter, artist, reader, musician, cook, traveler, academic, engineer, friend, problem-solver, and all around good dude. I've taken my liberal arts education to heart and into the rest of my life; learning how to learn is essential to knowledge, a continuous process, and something I still enjoy. With any luck, my knowledge will be a mile wide and an inch deep.
What I’m doing with my life
I pinch myself regularly to make sure I'm really going to my dream job ... and I am! Day to day, I work at the Science Museum of MN building exhibits for here, there, and all over the world. I'm incredibly lucky and grateful to've found a way to make a living doing something that's rewarding and interesting.

I'm overdue on travel, though a trip to New Zealand is in the works ...
I’m really good at
Making things (other than lists of things I'm really good at), spacial reasoning, sleeping
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my voice ... I don't really notice it, but get told frequently by strangers and friends that I should be on the radio or read books on tape ...

I also tend to smile a lot and I've got a fairly audible laugh.

Music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
and trying to emulate the following quote by Vonnegut:

"A plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit."
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with friends, in for an easy night, or working my second job.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I was an English Major ... I'd like to think Garrison Keilor is right

You want to ... it can't hurt to ask right?

If the idea of a first date where each person makes up an entirely fictional persona appeals to you ... All lies, fabrications and farse; none of the same old stories and questions, just a bunch of BS to see how each person chooses to represent themselves ... I've always wanted to try this ...
