My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
"My life is an open book, but you have to choose to read it."
-Me-
Yes that is right, I just quoted myself in my own profile, and you know what, I'm not going to cite my source at the end either. Ask me about why you should be laughing at that...promise it's at least worth a chuckle. That aside, I am a very simple guy...at least I think so anyway. I enjoy reading, playing games, and watching movies or TV shows with friends. Be warned though, I criticize them on their accuracy regularly and it usually takes a pillow or blunt object to the head to make me stop. (not really, I do have SOME self-control).

Now for the part of my summary where I tell you I'm not your typical guy. But first the per-requisite "I know, every guy says this but hear me out." The fact is I am different. I am not a sports aficionado, I know almost nothing about cars, and I actually enjoy going shopping (please please please keep your mouse off of that red X for a little longer). I could go on and keep trying to sell myself to you but why don't you peruse the rest of the profile and then just talk to me...can't give everything away for free.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm trying to decide what I want to do when I grow up. This may seem like a bad time to be figuring this out, but things haven't quite gone according to plan. The original plan was to graduate college in 2008 and get a teaching job. Then five years later I would start my Master's degree. Well, everyone has a plan, until they are punched in the mouth, and the economy did just that in 2008. That is when schools began cutting back arts programs and band directors everywhere took a death grip on their jobs.

I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
...bringing a new perspective to things. I am really good at seeing things from many different perspectives and putting myself in other people's shoes. This lets me not only understand others views, but explain things in ways they can understand.

I don't know, how about you tell me. I will even make you a deal, if your message includes the first thing you notice about me, I will add it to my profile.

Books
Anything by: Jim Butcher, George R. R. Martin, Orson Scott Card, Clive Cussler (Dirk Pitt novels), Stephen King, Stephen Donaldson, and Brandon Sanderson.

I do not limit myself to those authors but I prefer to read fiction. I will try anything someone suggests as a good read. I am a diehard reader and do it every chance I get. Be warned, if you get me talking about books I can go on and on, so just bop me on the head (like hitting the snooze button) and I'll be quiet for a little bit at least.

Music
I listen to everything. For me, finding that little bit of musical meaning is what makes it fun. I have heard professional classical musicians (I personally know a few members of the ISO) state that there are types of music that don't have musical significance and I stand here and state unequivocally that in every genre has musical significance. The only thing I will admit I don't like in any form is twangy old depressing country.

Movies & Shows
The key here is to find something engaging that will keep my interest. I also love comedy. I have always had a soft spot for superheroes and well known stories told in new ways. I also love to be scared if it is done well, and not just lots of blood and gore.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
...where my future is going. Where should I look for jobs? How can I stay involved with teaching if I'm not a teacher? What do I need to do to pursue my masters degree? What else would make a good career?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Generally reading a book. Although if I can find a partner, I would love to be swing dancing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I have no secrets....ok that just isn't true. There are things I don't tell my parents, siblings, or sometimes my friends. If you want to know something just ask and more than likely I will tell you what you want to know, otherwise I will tell you I don't want to tell you.

For the sake of having something here and because most of you won't read this far before deciding to message me or not here is why the reference in my statement in my "Summary" section was funny. In my college writing class, I wrote an informative paper about my major (music education). I was very proud of this paper but when I got it back I had a B with the comment "incomplete sourcing." When I asked the professor about it, he said I had failed to fully cite two resources I used and this I had committed plagiarism and I was lucky to have only lost a letter grade. I stared at him in shock because the two sources I "plagiarized" were papers I had written in other classes an discussed with the professor beforehand. Needless to say I was more than a little upset but completely unable to form coherent thoughts so I just accepted it and left,
