What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an astronomy grad student at OSU studying the mysteries of the Universe.

In my free time I enjoy cooking, sports (rock climbing, tennis, table tennis, badminton, and cycling), reading, and learning Chinese. I like trying new things, the latest of which is photography (if you ask nicely I can send you the link to some beautiful time-lapses of the night sky I recently made).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

It's hard to keep track of my favorite books. On occasion I'll find a book that I can't put down, and will end up plowing through it in a day or two (like I did for The Hunger Games and Harry Potter). My most recent reads have been Mistborn, The Dresden Files, Three Cups of Tea, and Outliers.

Movies: Inception was one of those rare movies that I actually watched more than once. I don't usually get into comic book-based movies, but the Iron Man movies have been great.

Shows: College basketball (does that count as a show? if it doesn't, it should), The Big Bang Theory, and Modern Family.

Music: alternative rock -- The Goo Goo Dolls, Coldplay, Vertical Horizon (does this one make me old?), Snow Patrol, etc. Periodically I like to pretend I'm cultured and go to Columbus Symphony or ProMusica concerts.

FOOD! Cooking (and eating) is something that I've come to really enjoy since starting grad school (I've been making the most out of my roommate's Cooks Illustrated subscription). This year I took it to a new level and planted an herb garden. I like trying new things, but my favorite cuisines are Chinese and Italian.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Goals
Exercise
The World Wide Web
XKCD What-Ifs
Cheese

I could only come up with five things -- I guess I'm just adaptable.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to be an awesome human being. Several months ago I went through a "faith transition" away from Mormonism. As a consequence, I find myself considering a lot of philosophical questions that have been reopened to me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Playing a racket sport, working late to appease my adviser, hanging out with friends, or cooking an amazing dinner from scratch.
