I am intelligent, goofy, and passionate.

My Self-Summary

Hi,
My name is Scott, I am 22 and attend Temple University double majoring in Biology and Education. I have also been studying a variety of martial arts since I was 6 including Karate, Tang Soo Do, Ninjutsu, Kung Fu, Aikido, and Qi Gong. I am very interested in the philosophy of yin/yang and balance and I am very balanced myself. I love reading, I generally read about 2 novels a month, I particularly like sci-fi and fantasy, and yes I occasionally indulge in D&D, I love rpg's of any kind. I also enjoy anime, but don't have too many friends who do so I haven't gotten too involved in it. I have been known to occasionally go to a goth club. In social situations I am very shy unless someone approaches me first, and then I will open up a lot. This is sort of contradictory because in serious situations such as life-or-death, I take control immediately and I am very capable. I am Irish and Hungarian, and I love celtic art and culture, as well as Asian culture and philosophy. My personality is a mix of nerd, skater, zen, scientist, martial artist, and metalhead. I am really a little bit of everything and I get along with people from mostly any clique. I really enjoy people who are down to earth and not full of themselves. Honor and loyalty are very important to me, also I don't tend to judge people often, and I get irritated when I see someone doing it. Being passionate about something is important to me, it drives you and develops you and gives you meaning, if you don't have something you are really passionate about, we probably won't get along, life is nothing without passion. There are deeper aspects of life I could speak for hours about, but I think I'll leave that for another time....

What I’m doing with my life

I am going to Temple U to be a biology teacher. I am also involved in VentilationX, a media entertainment company my friends and I started, where I run the martial arts department, and serve as talent for most of the other departments, most notably skateboarding, breakdancing, and parkour. I am also in the midst of creating an outline for a novel I want to write. If I can I would like to open up a martial art studio of my own, or even do fight choreography for movies. In addition to this I study chi and meditation and I am becoming proficient at energy healings.

I’m really good at

Martial Arts, parkour, sneaking up on people, biology/science in general, anything analytical or logical, philosophy, academic pursuits, amateur psychology/giving advice, cuddling, also Guitar Hero, final fantasy, and Halo, of course.

The first things people usually notice about me

Usually people first notice that I'm both shy and nice first, and summarily ignore me until they find out I have multiple black belts.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Tough choice. Favorite books would have to be the Legend of Drizzt, anything Star Wars, Ender's Game, and the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Harry Potter, Sigma Force series, science textbooks, Trial and Death of Socrates, and Origin of Species

My favorite movies would include Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, any martial arts movie, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, American Beauty, V for Vendetta, Wizard of Oz, Batman Begins & Dark Knight, Ninja Turtles, Gladiator, the Patriot, 300, Last Samurai, Fanboys, Sweeney Todd, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Ace Ventura, The Hangover

As for TV, PHILLIES! & EAGLES!, I love Discovery Channel, Science Channel, and Comedy Central, some of my favorite shows are Futurama, South Park, Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Psych, Bones, ...and iCarly (its hilarious, what do you want).

My Favorite music is vast and includes essentially anything rock, metal, celtic. Main ones would be Tenacious D, Kagrra, Omnia, Shadows Fall, KJ-52, Turisas, Eluveitie, Ensiferum, Avenged Sevenfold, All That Remains, Bullet for my Valentine, Dragonforce, Stratovarius, Kamelot, Dropkick Murphys, Lords of Acid, Blind Guardian, Linkin Park, Manowar, Metallica, System of a Down, Hammerfall, Iced Earth, Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Flyleaf, Disturbed, Green Day, In Flames, Korn, Slipknot, Lordi, Aerosmith, AC-DC, Nickelback, Megadeth, Slayer, Evanescence, the Killers, and an odd love of the 50's music from Fallout 3.

I mostly like American, Italian and Chinese food, Ill eat most other things but the only thing I cant stand is seafood.

The six things I could never do without

1. Star Wars
2. Heavy Metal
3. Martial Arts
4. Video Games
5. Atheism
6. Doing work that makes a difference and gives life meaning.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I spend the majority of my time pondering the meaning of life, philosophy, great scientific mysteries, martial arts choreography, and how to talk to girls. I think I have a better chance solving the first one than the last one.

On a typical Friday night I am

One of three places.
At work
Out with the guys
On a rooftop practicing swordsmanship with my friend Nick

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I live openly and would tell my life story to a complete stranger, so there's nothing really that I wouldn't admit. I guess I can start with the aspect of myself I dislike most, which is the fact that I have absolutely no rhythm and can't dance.

You should message me if

You are interested and looking for more than friendship. I'm really looking for something that will be potentially long term. Particularly if you have any of the same interests as I do like listening to metal or practicing martial arts. I also really respect intelligence and I like a good argument.
