My self-summary
Howsitgaun? I'm an easy-going Scotsman who's been living in SF for over 10 years, and still lovin it.
What I’m doing with my life
Living the American Dream, which is the pursuit of happiness, and that comes in many forms. Like goin to see shows, dancing ma arse off with friends to the wee small hours, running the Panhandle and GG park, (ran a half marathon last year, plan to run more!) Traveling around this amazing country, in the last couple of years been to New Orleans & Chicago, planning a trip to Yellowstone next!
I’m really good at
Discovering new music/movies/tv to check out, I'm very good social planner. Last year I saw Iggy Pop, Pulp, Madness & Adam Ant, this year I've already seen the heid-melter of show that is Muse, no bad eh?
The first things people usually notice about me
Fiery red hair, and Glaswegian accent.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music - Like everbody else in this digital age way too many to mention, pretty much every genre, as long as it moves my arse and/or my soul. Some favorites are LCD Soundsystem, Beta Band, Prince, Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Sons and Daughters, Jeff Buckley, Beastie Boys, The XX, Friendly Fires, The Rapture, Queen, Queens Of The Stone Age, Eagles Of Death Metal, The Kills, PJ Harvey, Motorhead, DJ Greg Wilson and fantastic Glasgow DJs Optimo Espacio. My favourite album of the last couple of months has been by a new Scottish band Django Django, very psychedelic, reminiscent of my old faves The Beta Band.

Movies - Again, loads of different stuff, foreign, indie, but being a comic book dork, definitely some of that in there. Some repeated viewings would be anything by the director Edgar Wright, Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrimm VS The World, anything by Tarantino, Trainspotting (of course), Highlander (much better than Braveheart, and about as historically accurate), The Dark Knight, The Fall, Dark City, The Jerk, Zombieland, Stripes, Tekkonkreet and Whisky Galore!

(Comic)Books - I used to read lots of books that didn't have pictures in them when I was a teenager, not kidding about 4 a week. But as a young and not so young adult I prefer the world of Graphic Novels, which is also a valid form of writing, and hey you get some cool art to boot. Three books that made the most impact on me, were The Invisibles by Grant Morrison, Preacher by Garth Ennis, and Transmetropolitian by Warren Ellis, all are weird, funny, and very smart, they also have no super heroes. Two writers who don't use pictures that I always have time for, scottish of course, are Iain Banks and Irvine Welsh.

Telly - Spaced which was directed by Edgar Wright of Scott Pilgrim etc fame, still for me the best TV show EVER, all the episodes are on Hulu, go watch it you haven't already. Other time-wasting treats would be Mighty Boosh, Limmy's Show, Chewin The Fat, Father Ted, Louie, It's Only Sunny In Philadephia, South Park, Family Guy, Venture Brothers, Simpsons(I still like it!), True Blood, Weeds, Breaking Bad, BSG, Dr Who and LOST.

Comedians - Something I love to do here, that's not watching someone create music onstage, mirth-meisters I love are:
Bill Hicks, Patton Oswalt, Frankie Boyle, Eddie Izzard, Dylan Moran, David Cross, Sarah Silverman, Billy Connolly, Maria Bamford, and possible-future-me Louis C.K.

Food - I'll pretty much eat anything, except cauliflower and brussell sprouts, results of childhood traumas.
The six things I could never do without
Tunes
'Puter
Family
Pals
Shagging
My accent (my mum would kill me if I lost it).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Something to look forward to, be it a show, a trip, or a cute girl.
On a typical Friday night I am
At a show or in the club.
In the pub talking shite with pals.
On the couch watching disturbing comedy.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I was 12, I bought Bruce Willis's solo album, bet you didn't even know he sang did you? Loved it at the time, pretty awful now.
