My self-summary
Hi, I'm Scott. I like to paint my nails and run long distances and read books about history.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently studying as an History undergrad at the LSE, which I'm enjoying very much so far. I focus on modern history, particularly the Cold War and the Soviet Union.

Other than that, I run a lot. I just did the Paris Marathon recently with a time of 3:55:30, I'm very pleased!

I also write, and beyond that it's just playing the occasional video game or watching TV when I get the chance.
I’m really good at
Writing: in 2012, a one act play that I wrote was produced and entered into a festival where it won a couple of awards, and that's my crowning achievement to date.

I have a really great memory. I'm pretty sure I know some A Bit of Fry and Laurie episodes by heart.

I'd love to say I'm amazing at running but right now I'm pretty regular. I've only been running for about 18 months though, and I'm always improving! I'll be doing the Paris marathon very shortly!
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my height. At 6' 4", I'm hard to miss.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Obviously, this isn't a comprehensive list of what I like but I'll just put down a few favourites.

Authors: Philip K. Dick, H. P. Lovecraft, George R. R. Martin, Dostoyevsky, Burgess, Lee, Waid and Moore.

Films: Super, Submarine, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Scott Pilgrim, Halloween (1978), A Nightmare on Elm Street, the good Star Treks.

TV: Star Trek, Doctor Who, Daria, The X-Files, Peep Show, Mystery Science Theater 3000, The Office, Frasier, A Bit of Fry & Laurie, Arrested Development, Blake's 7, Game of Thrones, Dexter, Battlestar Galactica, Buffy, Futurama, and any Louis Theroux documentary.

Music: Marilyn Manson, Molotov Jukebox, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Palma Violets, Eminem, Obie Trice. Basically, a lot of hard and glam rock with a bit of rap thrown in.

Some orchestral composers I like: Wagner, Mozart, Vaughan Williams, and Handel. Some pretty common choices, but they're my favourites regardless.

Food: a whole lot of things, really. I'll be loyal to my roots and say that Iranian food is my favourite, but I really have quite diverse tastes.
The six things I could never do without
Communication

Debate
I spend a lot of time thinking about
"I think about thinking more than I actually think
And my thoughts about thoughts are driving me to the brink
Either of an epiphany, or of something far worse
And if you take anything away from this verse
Remember: corruption is enlightenment!
And hope is a curse."
- T. J. Kirk
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably hanging out with friends or, failing that, at home with some TV show or video game (currently playing Bravely Default on 3DS and Mario 3D World on WiiU).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't believe in rain coats. They're just not right.
