My self-summary
Updated recently!!

Hi! My name is Scott. Insert stereotypical comment about online dating here.

I live for nature. I will do anything that involves the outdoors as often as possible. I have two kayaks and a Subaru Forester, so I'm ready for literally anything.

I stay active through my relationship with the outdoors. In addition, I work out and play pick up sports. I am looking for someone who stays fit and cares about their health. I don't play a lot of computer/video games, and I try not to let my phone rule my life. Since Her wasn't about me, I figure that's working out well so far.

I love driving. I don't drive too fast. I don't drive too slow. I drive just right. It helps me clear my mind, and I love listening to sweet tunes. Or my Birding By Ear CD set. I guess I can admit that here.

My humor is pretty cheesy but I'm lactose intolerant.

According to the Keirsey Temperament Test, I'm a Rational Mastermind (INTJ). It's decently accurate, but I don't think personality tests capture the complete essence of anyone's personality, mine included. Also true for the "Personality" tab on this fabulous site. Decently accurate for an at-a-glance synopsis of me.

I value honesty, ambition, intelligence, creativity, a bit of spontaneity, and the ability to just have fun.

I'm leaving for Colorado sometime this summer. But I'm really interested in still meeting new people and enjoying good company while spending my last few months adventuring around here. So, while I never rule anything out, a deep, long, meaningful relationship is fairly unlikely at this point.
What I’m doing with my life
Home-brewing beer!! It has quickly become my favorite hobby and will always be a part of my life. My brew partner and I have a long list of successes. Brewing and cooking have allowed my creative spirit to really flourish.

On the career front, I graduated with a degree in Wildlife Biology. I'm looking to do something fun and exciting in Colorado for a year and then do the Ph.D. thing.
I’m really good at
I can cook, clean, and make you beer. You know, all the important things.

Picking up the lyrics in a song even if I don't hear it from the beginning.

Knowing how to be serious and how to have fun, and when each is appropriate.

Being a responsible DD.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes are very dark brown. And people feel comfortable around me very quickly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: In the middle of the Game of Thrones series. Also, Robert Ludlum, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's complete works, Randy Pausch's "The Last Lecture", animal field guides and lots of evolution and dinosaur books and articles, home brewing related articles and magazines.

Movies: I hardly watch them, but I do like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Dead Poet's Society, Ocean's 11, Inception, Hot Rod, In Bruges, Gladiator (and almost all Russell Crowe movies), Michael, and pretty much anything with Morgan Freeman. I love movies that make you think/mess with your mind. Princess Bride may be my favorite movie of all time.

TV: I love Sherlock and Downton Abbey. Castle, the Mentalist, Overhaulin, Top Gear, The Glades, and How I Met Your Mother. I watch the History Channel, Nat Geo Wild, hockey and football, and the Discovery Channel when they have animal related documentaries.

Music: extremely varied. I love Active Child, Sigur Ros, Deftones, and I'm currently digging Radiohead, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, Muse, Cloud Kicker, and Boards of Canada. I cover all major genres and I do like country a lot. The music I listen to mostly depends on my mood. From the day after Thanksgiving to Christmas Day, I listen to 95% Christmas music.

For food, I love steak, salmon, and sushi. I like most meats, and I love asparagus, mango, bananas, and tiramisu. I'll try almost anything once. I'm lactose intolerant and allergic to mushrooms.
The six things I could never do without
An inquisitive mind and the never-ending pursuit of knowledge. I listen to several podcasts and read 5 magazines monthly. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Hiking boots. Ah screw it, my whole shoe collection I guess. But mostly the hiking boots.
Craft beer and quality wine - someday I want to make my own hard alcohol too
Passport (it always will need more stamps)
Human interaction and love
Nature and animals - animals are my passion and Mother Nature keeps me sane
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What my superpower would be if I was able to pick one.

Why do people put ketchup on eggs?? Maple syrup is wayyyy better!

If readers actually make it this far down my profile.
On a typical Friday night I am
It really depends on the day. Usually doing some brewing-related activity with my brew partner. Otherwise, laying low or out for a couple drinks, just like every other twenty-something in MA.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 21–30
  • Near me
  • For new friends, short-term dating
You should message me if
You want to tell me what your superpower would be.

You want to actually meet in person.

You can give a valid explanation of why you put ketchup on your eggs.
