My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi! My name is Scott. Insert stereotypical comment about online dating here.

I live for nature. I will do anything that involves the outdoors as often as possible. I have two kayaks and a Subaru Forester, so I'm ready for literally anything.

I stay active through my relationship with the outdoors. In addition, I work out and play pick up sports. I am looking for someone who stays fit and cares about their health. I don't play a lot of computer/video games, and I try not to let my phone rule my life. Since Her wasn't about me, I figure that's working out well so far.
*Update: just saw Her, and amazing. So believable.

I love driving. I don't drive too fast. I don't drive too slow. I drive just right. It helps me clear my mind, and I love listening to sweet tunes. Or my Birding By Ear CD set. I guess I can admit that here.

My humor is pretty cheesy but I'm lactose intolerant.

According to the Keirsey Temperament Test, I'm a Rational Mastermind (INTJ). It's decently accurate, but I don't think personality tests capture the complete essence of anyone's personality, mine included. Also true for the "Personality" tab on this fabulous site. Decently accurate for an at-a-glance synopsis.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Home-brewing beer!! It has quickly become my favorite hobby and will always be a part of my life. My brew partner and I have a long list of successes. Brewing and cooking have allowed my creative spirit to really flourish.

On the career front, I graduated with a degree in Wildlife Biology. Eventually I'll do the Ph.D. thing.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I can cook, clean, and make you beer. You know, all the important things.

Being a responsible DD.

Being myself.

Having a healthy mix of responsibility/maturity and fun.
The first things people usually notice about me

That I don't try to be someone or something I'm not. I'm comfortable with who I am and people tend to realize that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: In the middle of the Game of Thrones series. Also, Robert Ludlum, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Randy Pausch's "The Last Lecture", animal field guides and lots of evolution and dinosaur books and articles, home brewing related articles and magazines. I tend to read more non-fiction. However, LOTR and Harry Potter do have a special place in my life.

Movies: I hardly watch them, but I do like Avatar, Her, We're The Miller's, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Dead Poet's Society, Ocean's 11, Inception, Hot Rod, In Bruges, Gladiator (and almost all Russell Crowe movies), Michael, and pretty much anything with Morgan Freeman or Joaquin Phoenix. I love movies that make you think/mess with your mind. Princess Bride may be my favorite movie of all time.

TV: I love Sherlock and Downton Abbey. I also watch Vikings and both Top Gears. I watch most Bruins and Pats games when I can.

Music: extremely varied. My favorite concerts have been Sigur Ros, the Eagles, and Deftones, in that order. Going to see TWDY soon. Active Child, Fleet Foxes, Coldplay, Muse, Cloudkicker, most country music. I'll pretty much listen to anything except Kanye and the Dixie Chicks. Can't stand them. Music is a huge part of my life.

Food: I'm lactose intolerant and allergic to mushrooms. That being said, tiramisu is my favorite dessert ever😥. It's a hard-knock life. I'll try pretty much anything once, but I don't like shrimp or anything pumpkin.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
An inquisitive mind and the never-ending pursuit of knowledge. I am always learning.

Hiking boots. Ah screw it, my whole shoe collection I guess. But
mostly the hiking boots.

I could live without alcohol but I do really enjoy a craft beer(especially ones I make!), nice glass of wine, or a neat whiskey.

Passport - going to Europe again Summer 2015

Human interaction and love. I enjoy my alone time, but I love being around all the people that matter.

Nature and animals - animals are my passion and Mother Nature keeps me sane
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My mistakes. How I can learn from them, what I can learn from them, and how to not make them again.

People and psychology. Human to human interactions are fascinating things.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
It really depends on the day. Maybe doing some brewing-related activity with my brew partner. Or inventing some crazy new culinary concoction with my roommate. Otherwise, laying low or out for a couple drinks, just like every other twenty-something these days.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I meditate regularly. It keeps me sane and grounded.
