My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
If we are what we love most, what we're most passionate about I am one thing - and one thing only: the written word.

I'm a writer. Before you ask: fiction, of any shape or size. Have I been published? No, but that doesn't make me any less of a wordsmith; you may never in your life catch my name emblazoned on a hefty paperback with rave reviews from The New York Times in a Barnes & Noble.

That suits me just fine; did you ever notice that when you get honestly, genuinely serious about a passion, it turns to shit?

I swear; I have tattoos; I have a beard, whom I love dearly; if you aren't "a reader," you and I aren't a match. If you're overly religious and unwilling to accept other views, even in the slightest, we are not a match. If you're excessively conservative, we are not a match.

I'm not insulting you, I swear. I'm just being honest about myself. Let's get to know each other.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
The obvious: reading and writing. Living paycheck to paycheck, but somehow squeezing in a discretionary "go out and have some fun" fund.

The not so obvious: trying to master any musical instrument I can get my hand on. Amateur guitarist, aspiring drummer, saxophone player, and pianist (aspiring, read: trying to get my hands on one so that I can start fiddling with it). Terrible singer, but unabashedly enjoy belting out the chorus to my favorite song nonetheless.

I'm probably going to "attend" "college" (not enroll; to get an IT certificate under my belt - college is not the environment for me) and try to snag some $30,000 a year help desk job snoozefest. Whatever; it'll pay for more tattoos.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Creativity. I'm a people person, too; love 'em, hate 'em, whatever - I find human beings fascinating, and love to chat them up whenever I get a chance. If I was any good at math I might have been a scientist. Speaking of which, I'm fucking atrocious at math!

I love history. Also anything supernatural, whether "fact" or fiction. /r/nosleep is the bane of my existence.

Also? My job. I'm an American; I work my ass off, even if I'm underpaid. I was raised by my single mother to take whatever it is I'm doing and pour my heart and soul into it - even if it's busting out sandwiches for ungrateful douchebags.

Oh, and I'm fantastic with kids. I think, because I'm pretty much still a gigantic kid myself, kids and I just get each other on a basic level and get along very well. Babies stare at me! Like, a LOT. That's weird, right?
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My glasses are semi-noticeable (they're the same pair that Johnny Knoxville wears, I'm pretty sure - no kidding); some people dig my beard, I guess. I love it, but a lot of people have beards, let's not fawn.

Oh, I have three tattoos, two of which are very visible, one of which is rather large. Do I want more? Better believe it. Before I turn thirty-five I plan to be covered in tattoos (none on my face or neck; that's the only territory I'm unwilling to explore), so there's that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books - The Great Gatsby (F. Scott Fitzgerald), Red Azalea (Anchee Min), anything by Jack London or Charles Bukowski, etc.

Movies - Cool Hand Luke. Nolan's Batman trilogy, Seth Rogen's Green Hornet (fuck you, it was amazing), Her, The Wolf of Wall Street. I'm a gigantic Spaghetti Western/Noir fan - and, naturally, sci-fi.

Shows - Battlestar Galactica, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, White Collar, Firefly, Breaking Bad, Weeds.

Music - Hard/classic rock, mostly, but I can get into just about anything. Jethro Tull, Milk Carton Kids, Scroobius Pip, The Soulbreaker Company, Buddy Guy, Florence + The Machine, Lana Del Ray, Iggy Pop, OK Go, Greenskeepers, Chester French/D.A. Wallach, Jamie Commons, Of Monsters and Men, etc.

Food - A tie between Hispanic and Asian food.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Get the fuck out of here.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The folly of man and the ultimate inability of civilization to maintain itself.

I love unique socks, also.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I don't know. Work? On the off chance that I've got a day off, I might go out and catch a movie or stay in with friends, or just lounge on the couch with Netflix from dusk 'til dawn.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I sometimes wonder if I'm capable of making it through my twenties.
