I am creative, over-educated, and a wanderer.

My Self-Summary

I've been around the world and back again and have a few degrees to show for it, yet world weary people bug me.
I don't believe we can save the world, but damn it I'm going to try.
I'm an introvert that works with people.
I'm somewhere between a liberal and a libertarian.
I'm a west coaster living on the east coast.
I like paradox.
I've heard that which we consume/buy has a way of defining who we are (that's why budgets are moral documents). So, if this assumption is true today's purchases indicate my life is centered around taking care of my cat's health, books, and feeding myself... oh and coffee... I really like coffee.

What I’m doing with my life

I am in Baltimore for a year as a Lutheran Vicar... aka intern studying to become a pastor.

I’m really good at

Driving for extended lengths of time, pondering, teaching, reading old texts, creative writing, preaching, and listening.

The first things people usually notice about me

my facial hair.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Siddhartha, Steppenwolf, Hyperion, The Weakness of God, Zorba the Greek, The Conservative Soul, Persepolis, Ender's Game, Night, and All the King's Men.
Movies: The Children of Men, Jesus Christ Super Star, Hotel Rwanda, and The Simpson's Movie.
Music: Peter Paul & Mary, KRS-One, Van Morrison, and Mike Barnet.

The six things I could never do without

My glasses/contacts, the internet, a clever conversation partner, a pen, paper, and a decent desk.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Politics, the connection between religion and violence, how to reconcile the secular and the sacred, the ways the pre-modern world are different than the modern and post-modern... how far down this rabbit hole do you want to go?

On a typical Friday night I am

I currently spend my free time watching netflix, reading, and exploring Baltimore.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

(See: I spend a lot of time thinking about)

You should message me if

you are a thoughtful person who is up for my charming brand of quirkiness.
