My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I do what I have to do to survive and spend any time left over pursuing my passions. To survive, I run sound systems for live music, book shows for a local venue, babysit, deliver pizza, and sometimes record music for people. My passions are writing songs and composing music to play with my band, reading comic books for inspiration, spending quality time with people I love, and a little bit of drawing. I'm always looking for new ways to put the values I think are important into practice. I really enjoy deep conversations that blur the boundaries between intellectual and emotional and make me think of things in a new way. I am very antiauthoritarian so if you're bossy you'll probably hate me, though I might actually have fun pushing your buttons. I'm very fond of zen philosophy, and I agree with most of what I've read by Joseph Campbell about the psychological role of mythology in the human drama. I'm fairly easily aggravated by personal rigidity both in myself and others, and I don't get along well with people whose minds have been dulled by religion, though religion and its history fascinate me. I like laughing, and I like making other people laugh more.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to remember that it's happening.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Paying attention to the interesting parts.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't know how one is supposed to answer this. This has never come up in a conversation and whatever I say is just going to point out whatever I think I deserve recognition for. So I'm going to say they notice that I wrote the funniest poems in my 7th grade class, and no one can ever take that away from me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Comic books/"graphic novels". I saw the Lego Movie and Anchorman 2, and I've seen a bunch of others but nothing real important lately- oh except The Fantastic Planet. Don't really watch shows, been doing other things. I like a lot of music, usually stuff that's at least a little off-kilter, heartfelt, smart, and against the grain. I like pizza and I don't eat meat very often.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A guitar
My fingers
Other people
Sunshine, at least once in a while.
Natural beauty
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My band and making sure my bills are getting paid.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working! I run sound for live music Thursday-Sat nights. Sunday morning is my friday night, sorta.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not great at keeping secrets, especially about myself. I'm willing to admit that I'm probably too straightforward sometimes and should say less more often than more.
