My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi there!

I am a Santa Cruz local. I've studied Marine Transportation at the California Maritime Academy, and I currently a Mate in the U.S. Merchant Marine.

In my spare time I enjoy reading all sorts of books. Novels, short essays, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Comic Books, Graphic Novels, Manga, you name it I read it.

I enjoy outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, and gardening. I also enjoy working on projects like wood/metal working.

I really enjoy meeting new people, but at the same time I can be a bit shy, at first.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am a Mate working in the The United States Merchant Marine Industry or in much simpler terms, I'm a sailor working on a commercial shipping vessel. When I'm away, I spend weeks sailing on the open ocean, traveling from port to port, wherever the job brings me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
One thing I'm really good at is remembering seemingly useless pop-culture trivia.

I'm good at thinking and figuring out things. Designs, projects, events. I like to have things laid out in front of me.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes. I know, it's the same old cliche, but out of everything I've receive more compliments about my eyes than anything else.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: I enjoy the workings of classic Fantasy and Sci-Fi writers such as J.R.R. Tolkein, Robert Heinlein, and Douglas Adams. Recently I've been readings book by authors, George R.R. Martin, Neil Gaiman, Terry Brooks, and Orson Scott Card.

T.V. Shows: Lately I've been watching primetime comedy shows like 30 Rock, The Office, Parks and Rec, and The Big Bang Theory. I am a fan of such TV shows as LOST, Arrested Development, Game of Thrones ,and Dr. Who. I'm always looking for new shows, because you never know when you might find something 20% cooler.

I am an avid Gamer. I am a Comic and Anime/Manga Enthusiast with a continually growing library, and I've recently gotten back into table top RPG's after an incredibly long dry spell.

I like all kinds of music, but I more often enjoy classic rock, alternative rock, and classical.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) Family

2) Friends

3) A warm bed to come home to.

4) Good food

5) A good book

6)The Internet
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
When I'm out a sea, I spend a lot of time thinking about what I'm going to do when I get home. All the journeys and adventures I'll have. All the people I'll meet.

When I'm home I think about current events in the news, trends in pop culture, and my assignment at sea.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Enjoying a night out with friends, or staying at home, enjoying a quiet night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well, I guess it would be that I'm a little bit nerdy. I like doing geeky things, like reading comics and quoting Monty Python, and all that. It's what I enjoy, and I'm not ashamed of it.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you want to just hang out or even just want someone to chat with, send me a message. I won't bite. (wow, that is just terrible)

A word of warning. Due to my career, I do spend long amounts of time out of Internet range, so if you don't hear back from me, don't be alarmed. I just haven't made it into port, yet.
