I poke around the world, looking for new, and old in new ways. I want to understand. I write. I play. I'm enthusiastic. I read a lot. I spend a lot of time taking pictures of buildings, because I want to write stories about what happens in them.

I am whimsical, musical, and sensical

I live in the city and write all kinds of stories. Thinking about what makes for good writing and interesting storytelling is pretty much what I'm doing in all aspects of my life. I love going out to shows and movies, walking around the city, sitting with a notebook in the park on a nice day. Creating in the world.

Cooking, sitting, talking. I play the piano and the guitar, and speak geek fluently. I love trying new recipes and finding new books to read.

Mostly my smile. Sometimes my earrings. Occasionally the book I'm reading.

Movies: Pretty much anything with aliens and/or explosions. I'm fairly picky within that genre, and I like other kinds of movies as well, but that's the place to start. I like being entertained. I find deep meaning in superhero stories.

Shows: West Wing, Sports Night, Firefly, Nero Wolfe. (I mostly watch my television on DVD.)

Music: Most things acoustic. Bob Dylan, The Wailing Jennys, Joan Baez, Arlo Guthrie, Fruit, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, Sting, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Weird Al, Vienna Teng

Food: I love cooking almost anything. Eating out, I like going for Chinese noodle soup, pad thai, sushi. It seems I like Asian food!

Six things... books, notebooks, good ingredients, interesting conversations, soft sheets, and laughing.

Literature. The ways people interact. The ways people interact in literature. I think about the world, how to make it better. I think about my stories, and all the things that might happen.

Maybe I'm going to a new movie, or dancing around my kitchen making dinner, or out with a friend having dinner and joking around.

I still have nightmares.
