My self-summary
I am on a journey and I don't know where I'll end up. My faith (Catholicism) is important to me. So are the social justice documents of the church. I work at the hospital, and have a soft spot for the poor. I am also goofy and love to laugh, and enjoy intelligent humor. I'm also very attracted to water, and need to go on float trips more often - you down? Also looking for fun things to do and friends in the area - any ideas?
What I’m doing with my life
I recenly moved to the area, working in the University Hospitals. I'm ready for a new adventure! Trying to become more involved with my church and hang out with friends more :) Also want to learn how to cook more stuff, and how to grow plants (cats eat them though...)

Also, I'm becoming more invested in "self-care" where I can. This will be awesome for me in the long term :). Currently a workaholic, hopefully that'll change soon!
I’m really good at
I have a knack for academics and seeing things from multiple angles. Also rock at Words With Friends :). I also feel like I am a good listener, most of the time. And I know how to sit with people in their emotional pain.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably that I'm really quiet until people get to know me a little better. I have also been told, my smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Tam Lin, The Giver, The Gospel of Father Joe, East of Eden, Good Omens, The Red Tent, My Sister's Keeper, the Help, Ender's Game... also looking for more suggestions, especially in the fiction realm. In the nonfiction realm, Catholic Social Thought :)

Moves: Dramas, comedies. Such as: American History X, Primal Fear, Keeping the Faith (notice the Edward Norton trend?), Bridget Jones' Diary, Pride and Prejudice, Star Trek (the new one) Pirates 1 - 3, When Harry Met Sally, Inception, Disney movies, (this could go on...)

Shows: Big Bang Theory, Gilmore Girls, Downton Abbey, anime (i get the seasons and watch them on DVD, not a big TV watcher)

Music: rock / pop / r&b, NOT country...current fave groups: Ben Folds (Five), U2, Tori Amos, Charlotte Martin (excellent Pandora find!), Florence + the Machine, 80s and 90s music, anime, I have been told that my music collection surprises people sometimes.

Food: cheese. seafood, mexican, vietnamese, pork tenderloin, gooey butter cake.... trying to eat healthier! :)
The six things I could never do without
1. The basics (air, food, water, sunshine..)
2. Cheese
3. iPhone
4. Games
5. Community
6. Compassion for the poor
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Yes. :) Life, love, the poor, the social gospel...
On a typical Friday night I am
relaxing after a long week by myself or with a few friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
i like the color blue :)

Oh, and if I won the lottery and had to be TOTALLY selfish with my winnings, I feel like I could get by on about $250,000 after taxes: pay off student loans, get a modest house, and a new vehicle. I would still have to work, of course, but a bigger percentage would be "expendable" income :)
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 30–40
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
you wanna have intelligent conversations about whatever!
