My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
In the year 1983, a great and glorious event took place. A child was born to an Air Force couple in the mystical land of Nebraska, in its capitol city of Omaha. The sound of a chorus of angels pierced the corn rows and the...

Yeah, anyway... I suppose in a full summary of myself (a self-summary, I suppose) I would have to say that I am a searcher of fortune and opportunity. Currently I am living in Key West in the hope of finding my muse, as well as a few bucks to live on. I am an aspiring writer, though I have a pile of half-finished pieces collected as opposed to one magnum opus - or at least two of three hackneyed genre novels - though I hope for that to change.

Lately I have been very interested in digital art, I.E. Photoshop. I essentially spent an entire month at my previous job learning how to use Photoshop proficiently, and I have since created a number of amateurish pieces of digital slop that I will probably only show you if we get really close and you promise not to laugh.

Nerdily (this is a new word, so write it down) enough, I am also a big fan of video games and sci-fi. I know, I know, I've turned half of the people reading so far right off, but that's okay, since the people who consider themselves to be above these things should just mosey along anyway, since we probably don't have all that much in common anyway.

For now, that seems like enough. If there is anything else that you want me to elaborate upon, feel free to drop me a line or whatnot.

Also, according to OKCupid I am apparently an 88% match for myself. I would have thought I'd rank higher than that.

I am amusing, imaginative, and worthwhile
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
At the moment I am drifting; searching for something to catch my eye and lure me into a full time career. As stated above, what I really want to do is write. Unfortunately, finding the motivation to do so when everything seems so hectic is not easy, and I have a horrible tendency to start something and just not finish it. I just recently moved to the Austin, Texas area from my home state of Maine, and it's been a great experience so far in every way except for the whole keeping me motivated and in a worthwhile line of work field. Try walking unappreciative people through the complexities of modern technology for eight hours a day and then see if your mind and soul are in a good place to be creative when you get home.

If I can get my finances in order some time in the near future then I will be going back to college. It seems most likely that I would end up going to ACC or a similar school for a while and then attempt to make a transition to a larger, more reputable educational body once that was complete. At least that's what I would find preferrable.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really pretty good at making people laugh. I've always been very witty and quick in conversation, and all of my friends enjoy spending time with me because I can bring them to at least a chuckling fit fairly easily.

Also on the list of things I am really good at is writing. Yes, I know, my career of choice. If only I would do more of it...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The first thing that people tend to notice about me is that I am eager to make people happy. I joke around, I laugh at other peoples' jokes, I nod my head and smile a lot. And it's sincere, it really is. There are too many people in the world that fake that sort of interaction, but hey, what's the point in not enjoying someone else's stories if they're nice enough to share them with you?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My favorite books are The Probability Broach by L. Neil Smith, The Road to Serfdom]] by [F.A. Hayek, The Law by Frederic Bastiat, The Bear and the Dragon by Tom Clancy, Band of Brothers by Stephen Ambrose, and World War Z by Max Brooks.

I do love me some movies, that's for sure. My favorites are Seven Samurai, the original three Star Wars movies (not the crap prequels, or the special editions. Han shot first!), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Super Troopers, Oldboy, The Big Lebowski, Three Kings, Battle Royale... oh man, there are a lot to choose from.

Mainly I enjoy foreign films, particularly Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. Not any of that chop-socky silly stuff really, even though that can be fun at times, but the more modern dramas and action films that come from over there. South Korea in particular has an incredible film industry at the moment that is churning out masterpiece after masterpiece. Oldboy is a disturbing modern classic that can't be missed, and though the other two films in the so-called "Vengeance Trilogy" are far more depressing that even Oldboy (Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance and Lady Vengeance) they shouldn't be missed. The Host is another great one, and it's far more original and terrifying than any horror films that have come out of the US in recent years.

Man, I love movies. I could go on and on, really. I'd really like to write screenplays, in fact, and I have a couple treatments that I am working on currently.

I don't have just one favorite food. In fact, I am a big fan of Chinese], Thai, and Japanese cuisine. Sushi is kind of my food fad these days, and thankfully I have managed to find a really nice, really affordable sushi bar here in Key West. Let me tell you, though, there's not much better than a good shepherd's pie or macaroni and cheese either.

Oh man, I just realized that I did this out of order! Damn, well, I suppose I will have to list the music after the food then and just let pre-ordained sequence be damned. My favorite bands have changed in the past few years, to the point that I actually can't really name one particular band as my favorite. I listen to a lot of Led Zeppelin, and I do consider them probably the greatest band of all time, though not entirely my favorite. I used to love Our Lady Peace, and in fact I had the opportunity to sing on stage with them back in '01, but lately they have changed their musical format from "post-grunge" to "shit." In no particular order, here are my top ten favorite bands, not including the ones I have already listed:

Interpol Filter The Mars Volta The Minibosses Rush Coheed and Cambria Incubus Soundgarden Alice In Chains Sponge

And here is an 11th, just to throw things off even more

The Who
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Avert your eyes, because some of these might be considered "pathetic"

My computer By extension, Photoshop My family, as difficult as they are to handle most of the time My friends, as difficult as... eh, see above Sunny days Music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I'll admit I spend a little too much time worrying.. err, pondering over the future. What is going to happen to me in ten years? Twenty years? What will Obama bring to the table? What are the chances that the economy will pick up in time for me and the rest of my generation to live our loves in a happy and prosperous manner? Will we get hit by an asteroid at some point in the near future? Is this 2012 thing just a bunch of hoo-hah-dilly-doodly? I don't let it bother me most of the time, but man, it's so irritating to not be able to predict exactly what wll happen at any point in time to come. I suppose that's part of the fun of life.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Friday nights tend to mean that I am hanging out with my roommates in one way or another, either going to a local bar here in Round Rock, checking out downtown Austin, or staying in and having people over to the house.

And yeah, some Fridays I just stay in an watch TV or hop onto XBox Live for a while.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
As Irish as my name may sound, I'm actually mainly English and Norwegian! Zounds!
