I am Caring, Compassionate, and Adaptive.
My Self-Summary
Hi, my name is Christopher, or Chris. This is the hard part, I
suppose. Summing myself up in a paragraph, when I believe everyone
is unique, and worth a lot more than just a few hastily-chosen
words. But I know the readers will want something, so here goes.
I'm a dreamer, an excellent cook (and I've been told so), a reader,
and a listener. In my circle, I'm almost always the advice-giver.I
am very open-minded, and I do not judge others harshly. I also have
been told I am easy to talk to, and I try to see things from
everyone's point of view. I am heavily into history and
archaeology, anthropology. I like knowing about where people came
from. I believe the past can show us what we can expect for the
future, if that makes any sense. I love nature, and I'm very happy
taking a walk or going for a swim, or hitting the court for
basketball. I also like soccer and football, and volleyball. I've
never been married, no kids yet, but open to both if and when I
find the right partner. One very important thing to note, is that
although all of my "match question" answers are 100% honest, they
don't really give you enough choices, and a lot of the questions
are about "considering" something, so in spirit, I can consider
most anything, but in a practical sense, would I do it? I can't
really say. It's all hypothetical, right? Just felt like
clarifying, because some of the questions can be confusing or
repetitive.
What I’m doing with my life
Lots of things, I'm happiest when I'm learning something new, so in
my free time I am always reading a book, or watching a show about
new recipes, or crafts. I like putting things together. My job has
me working with computers on a daily basis, so I'm able to keep up
my typing and data-coordinating skills. I repair computers for a
living. Not the most exciting job in the world, but I like it, and
I'm constantly trying to improve myself. Do I see myself stable for
the next 5 years? Yes, absolutely. I am into computers, and I can
be a geek at times, but that doesn't define me as a lifestyle. I'm
a lot more than what I do, or where I've been. One word of warning,
not sure if it matters. I never really learned to dance. Not that I
wouldn't, just haven't learned yet. So, if you expect a champion
ballroom dancer from the start, I'm probably not it. I'm fairly
coordinated in other things, though.
I’m really good at
Seeing things from different perspectives, compromising, solving
problems, playing referee when my friends argue, knowing obscure
things and facts. I am really good at enduring pain. I get
migraines, and I don't usually take any medication for them, had
them since I was a kid and I'm used to how they are. I am good at
not showing pain. I'm also good at not getting sick. I can't even
remember the last time I got a cold. I am a -VERY- good cook. I
know, a lot of people say that, but you'll just have to take my
word for it until I can prove it to you. I've also been told I'm
funny. Sometimes I'm funny on purpose, and sometimes it's
completely by accident. I am really good at keeping calm in a
crisis. One annoying habit I have is I occasionally over-think
things, and I can make a fool out of myself at the most embarassing
moments possible. Just thought I'd throw that out there. I'm also
excellent with silly accents.
The first things people usually notice about me
Online, they tend to notice my wit first. Offline, I think most
people notice my compassion. I am always trying to help people out.
It's just part of who I am. Most people also tend to notice I am a
great listener, but that takes a few minutes to get to. Physically,
if you're looking down, I think most people do notice my feet. They
are unusually large. If you're not looking down, I suppose my eyes.
I can be shy at first, but I almost always get over it. If I don't,
pinch me or something and I'll speak. LOL!
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
This is a tough one. Books, I like Edgar Allen Poe, Arthur Conan
Doyle, Nikolai Gogol, and sometimes I will read more modern books.
I have a chest of the complete Harry Potter series, that my mom
gave me because I like to read. I'll most likely end up reading
them all, because I do like fantasy. I have a non-fiction book on
vampires, but I can't say I've read any of the popular novels aside
from Bram Stoker's Dracula. Given time, I might pick one up, if any
are suggested. I like to read books that take me away. Music,
anything. I like music in every genre I can think of. Actually, if
you were snooping on my music player, you'd probably notice a
jumble of several different kinds of music. But most of it tending
toward rock. I grew up in the 80's and that pretty much gave me a
love of loud music. LOL! Movies, I like drama, sci-fi, horror,
comedy, fantasy. I'll watch pretty much anything, because I like
seeing and experiencing new stuff. Food, there is not much I won't
eat. Being a pretty good cook, I like to taste different things. I
also love to eat out. Especially if I've been cooking all week.
The six things I could never do without
1 & 2. A notebook and pen. I really like to write things down,
because I am a thinker and dreamer. 3 & 4. I have two books,
Sherlock Holmes, and Edgar Allen Poe's collected poems and
short-stories. They have gotten me through many rough or lonely
times, so I care deeply for them. 5. My coat. I really, really love
a good coat. 6. My glasses. I could get contacts, but I like my
sense of style, and I like my glasses.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lots of things. The future, the past, how life is for other people.
The stuff that makes us tick upstairs, little details most probably
ignore. I think a lot about the beauty in simple things. I am big
on thinking. Philosophy, the abstract, anything.
On a typical Friday night I am
Friday nights are up in the air for me. Sometimes I'll order in, or
go out, or be so tired from the week that I'll just sleep, but
mostly I don't get that tired very often. I don't have a set
schedule for friday night, but I do like to do something.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
One time a wasp fell into my pants and stung me right in the top of
my buttcrack. I couldn't even find the stinger. I had to stand in
the shower for about an hour until it finally fell out. When I was
a teenager I was "dead" for a couple of minutes. Choking on a
burger. Typical teenager wolfing the food down, right? It did
change my outlook a bit.
You should message me if
If you're lonely, looking for fun, like what I've said, anything,
none of the above. No expectations. I could write a hundred
different things on here, but it all comes down to the fact that no
one can ever truly know anyone until they start talking. The ball
is in your court. I am looking for something serious, but I
wouldn't turn down something casual for starters. You never know
what might happen.
