I am unorthodox, creative, and dashing.

My Self-Summary

I have to quickly apologize for the next paragraph, it looks like a laundry list. So does the American Declaration of Independence, so I shouldn't have to apologize. Just warning for those who might be a bit tuned out from it.

Most important thing about me is probably the fact that I'm a musician; I play the drums primarily but I do also play piano and am picking up bass guitar. I could also wield a trombone and make it sound half-decent, and my singing is...iffy at best ;). I also have a small, humble home recording studio where I record some of my compositions as well as my band. I'm sarcastic, playful, and serious at the same time (imagine that). I love frogs!

Many things I deem important. That's because everything about me is important! ;)

What I’m doing with my life

Actively involved in music. I have just released a rock CD titled "Off the Spring," you can check out my website at http://www.imaginative-studios.com/off-the-spring. Its available online at CD Baby as well.

In addition to that, I am in an alternative rock band that never plays shows, and play with my friend Val in this vaudeville punk accordion gig. I have also graduated with a degree in Small Business, and have (finally) begun teaching drum lessons, although I still work corporate retail as a day job.

I’m really good at

Playing and writing music. And knowledge of useless trivia (especially history and geography), comes from hours of reading non-fiction and staying up into the wee hours of the morning browsing through links on wikipedia. Driving too. Also making people laugh (either laughing with me or at me). I've been told I'm really good at kissing. And I'm good at math, though I hate it. And yes, I'm good at video games.

And I get really excited really easily over things people can't understand why I get excited over.

The first things people usually notice about me

I have red hair and badass sideburns. And I wear a lot of black - I like the color, not because I'm goth or emo or whatever stupid labels people come up with.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: The Lorax, Tuesday, Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Return of the King (they left the best part out of the movie!), Ecotopia, Harry Turtledove and Alternate History, especially the How Few Remain series. And the Adventures of Tintin!

Movies: Yellow Submarine, V for Vendetta (I think I'm the only one who thinks the movie was better than the graphic novel), GoldenEye, Return of the Jedi, Gettysburg, Serenity

Music: The Beatles, Deep Purple, The Who, Jethro Tull, Queen, Cream, Rush, Storm Large and the Balls, Metallica, Beethoven

Food: Pumpkin Pie, milkshakes, and Chinese

TV Shows: Babylon 5, 24, Firefly, Reboot, House

The six things I could never do without

Abbey Road - My favorite album of all time, greatest work of art
Women - Everybody loves women
Creativity - It is what defines me, after all
My drums - My precious babies!
Trees - I may be technically an atheist, but I believe trees have spirits and souls. I love walking through an Oregon forest in the rain.
Hope - The one thing no one has figured out how to kill yet

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Different ways I can market my album so I can continue to sell them. I still have 9 boxes that are unopened!

I also think about the ineptitude of the Democratic super majority and Congress and how they fail to get anything done. The Republicans never had a super majority and they got the Patriot Act passed! What the hell?

On a typical Friday night I am

Sometimes co-workers like going to McMenamins after work on Fridays, and I meet up with them since I don't usually work on Fridays. Otherwise probably working on composing some music or listening to music.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm a pacifist. Its one of those things I should be loud and proud about, but the amount of violence-induced people in this world and their ridicule of those who live differently is too much for me to speak up about such things too often. Ironically, I am a huge fan of military history.

You should message me if

If you want to walk through a forest in the rain.
