I'm a husband, father, engineer, geek. I'm a
science fiction fan, especially
Firefly and
Heinlein. Other
labels which apply . . . I'm an
INTJ. I used to be an active pagan, I've
drifted away from that and am concentrating on taking care of
mundane life. I'm a
gamer, meaning I play RPGs and tabletop
games (and occasionally a computer game). My wife and I are in a
polyamorous
(aka
poly)
relationship, though we're more likely to play cards with new
friends than do anything intimate. We're
slow-poke poly.
I've been living in Texas for five years. I came here from
California to find a better place to raise our kids. It's working
so far (grin). CA wasn't a great place for me, but it's hard to
turn down a good job. There were good points--working
ren faire, joining the
SCA, going to
SF
cons, and best of all meeting
dragonflymama.
But there was no way we could afford to keep living there. Texas is
working out much better.
I'm hoping to stay here. That'd be a nice change, actually. I grew
up in New York, went to school in Massachusetts, and then had the
Air Force send me to Colorado, Washington (state), and Nebraska.
Even the time I was in California I kept moving around, I never
made it a full three years in the same city.

I used to build
spaceships but there's not much money
at it. So now I have a boring job that pays the bills. I write
gaming articles to release my creative energy.
Crunching numbers. Playing games (
RPGs,
board games,
card games,
Warcraft). Taking care of my family. My
writing skills are improving with practice.
I grew a
beard a few
years ago, which has been getting a lot of attention.

b. Serenity. Star Trek II. Empire Strikes Back. Gettysburg. 1776.
Babylon 5.

My wife. My children. Meaningful work. Good books. The internet.
Exploring new ideas.
Having fun with other people. Trying to solve abstract problems.
And dealing with all our practical problems--life is busy. If I'm
having a very complex thought it probably gets posted on
Livejournal.
Home with my wife, possibly with friends over to watch videos or
play cards. If we don't have company we're probably playing
World of
Warcraft together.
I'm sorry, you're not cleared for that.
You'd like to chat with me, play games, or go out to dinner
sometime.
Also if you're a
sapiosexual.
