Hmm.. I feel like this needs to be edited with more thoughtfulness, but spur of the moment - here goes: ... Raised on a 200 acre family farm in northeast Michigan (50+ beef cattle, 90 acres asparagus, 12+ acres raspberries + pastures, hayfields, woods, etc...)..

Active upbringing - sports, hunting, academics, lots of farm labor - lol... Attended 3 colleges before finally graduating from Northeastern Univ. w/ BSBA, dual concentration in International Business and Management Information Systems (summa cum laude), interrupted by brief tenure in Army Infantry (Fort Benning - medical discharge)...

Moved to MA in 94 (transferred to NU).. Lived in DC, Georgia/Ft. Benning, Back Bay, Southie, Mission Hill, and Somerville (near Davis Sq. for about 5 yrs)...

Bartended for a 1-2 yrs while in school... Worked for Lotus/IBM for 5-6 years.. Moved to Shrewsbury/Worcester area in 2000 - have been in that general area since... Have worked in everything from high tech to farming to military to bartending/waiter, to assistant store manager in retail for multimillion dollar stores, to a wide range of construction (roofing, foundations, painting, general carpentry, swimming pool industry - construction, service, chemicals, flooring (tile, h/w, laminates, carpet, etc.) -- farm background -- learned to drive on a tractor at 8 years old pulling haywagons at midnight with cursing screaming crews of men hauling hay ahead of rainstorms...

Voracious reader, skeptical observer, well educated, well travelled (27+rnd trip flights last year of IBM alone...

Good sense of humor, tolerant -- though with a low tolerance for fools.... Inquisitive nature - like reading as much as going out... Spiritual, but generally negative attitude to organized religion... Feeling increasingly bored as a bachelor -- no kids, no ex-wives -- curious to see what things may come....

I have always read voraciously -- have 4 or 5 bookcases packed in my apartment, check stuff out of the library constantly... Eclectic tastes, though i tend to concentrate on history/military history (also enjoy everything from sci-fi/fantasy to historical novels, new age, pop science (quantum theory), philosophy, current affairs, horror, general fiction)... Daily routine involves monitoring variety of news sites/articles on the web after work.... I usually always have at least one book I'm working on --- I used to read 2-3 a month, though since starting a new job that pace has slowed down...

Music? -- also eclectic, though i tend to have a very low opinion of bland easy listening pop.... I gravitate toward classic rock/heavy rock, but also like blues (esp. live blues), classic country/western, heavy metal -- whatever i think reflects genuine (musical) talent/creativity -- versus the flavor of the day from a producer.. Music is a stress reliever... Don't care for rap... Skeptical on hip-hop, though i occasionally appreciate it...

Movies -- luv movies, but I've realized I've become a movie snob, in some respects, and tend to watch fewer new releases than i used to -- possibly as a result of loving new cable series like Boardwalk Empire, Justified, etc...

Food? I tend to "feed the machine", though i do appreciate quality cooking and am not afraid of investigating new types/styles... I grew up on a family farm in northern rural Michigan, so probably became accustomed to lots of variety which isn't necessarily common here -- lots of fresh fruits/vegetables and wild game...

Shows? I like live music in smaller venues.. Openminded === comedy, etc.. Although I seem to have fallen into a rut over the last 5-10 yrs, I used to enjoy stuff like Blue Man Group, larger concerts, museums,etc..

probably either working, at a bar/club hanging out with friends, watching a live blues or rock cover band show at a local bar/club, or at home watching TV, surfing Web, keeping touch w/friends via facebook/chat, email, etc...
