My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Visiting Palmerston North, 29 Jul - 3 August.

Aloha,
I am a closed book: you see the cover as perceived by the author. Can you tell a good book by its cover? Isn't the same true of people? You have to open and read the book to see if you really like it. Is not the same true with people? A good person - like a good book - surprises, stimulates, and takes you away from daily life. If you would like a stimulating digression, or just want to escape from the everyday and the mundane, why not open this book? If you find its not to your taste, you can always put it down again.
I am an artistic, creative, passionate, intellectual, sapiosexual, open minded, progressive, iconoclast author and educator. I am separated and going through divorce after a long marriage. I have moved on and now am in an open relationship with MBinLV. She is a wonderfully loving, caring, sensual, creative, supportive and devoted soul and I feel blessed to share my life with her. We are open in our relationship. We love (both collectively and individually) meeting new people, making new friends, traveling and exploring new cultures and new places, developing enduring connections, broadening ourselves and our horizons, expressung our creativity and sensuality and having fun.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
We are educating and mentoring minds; exploring new vistas; learning from past experiences; seeking new adventures; looking for connections and partners to travel life's journey and navigate its vicissitudes together. Perhaps you might be one of them?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening; being empathetic; expressing compassion; caring; conversation/intellectual discussions. Being non-judgmental and understanding. Learning from my mistakes (yes I have made them; do make them; and will make them again). Negotiating equitable compromises. Not being jealous or possessive. Practicing compersion. Learning from others and teaching others. Encouraging others to follow their passions and fulfill their dreams.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My voice/accent -it is distinctive and many people like it. Probably next would be my brown eyes and then perhaps my slim legs or my pert bottom?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I like so many books, movies, and foods I barely know where to start! I am an avid reader and bibliophile with broad, eclectic tastes - same goes for movies and food. I love mysteries, drama, thrillers, detective films, sci-fi, comedies, romance - a wide gamut! Faves include: (movies) Incredible Lightness of Being, Tipping the Velvet, Eyes Wide Shut, LOTR, 1984, Zulu; (music): Ultravox, OMD, Visage, Pretenders; (TV): PBS Mystery, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones; (books): Steppenwolf, The Ethical Slut, Lolita, Emmanuelle, Passage to India. I love ethnic food - Indian, Vietnamese, Thai - anything international actually. My cultured artistic side enjoys opera, live performances, music, plays, concerts, shows, etc.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My beloved primary partner
My cell phone and laptop - its all about connection these days.
My family, partners, friends and connections
Getting to know new friends
New and exciting experiences
Traveling to other countries and exploring their cultures, history, and traditions.
Learning - I love to learn. if you do not exercise your brain it turns to mush!
Passion, creativity, and intellect - I am sapiosexual - what is life without intelligent passion?
Good victuals, good cuisine, and good company.
Writing, expression, creativuty, freedom.
Finding answers to problems and challenges.
That is more than six. Never been very good at staying within boundaries!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The wonderful primary partner in my life
Helping family and friends
Rejoicing about the partners in my life
Becoming a better person
Making a small difference in the world
Developing meaningful connections with others
Global events and their meaning
Matters of the heart
Being passionate about life
Good food, good drink, and good company
Why we ever thought gender was binary?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
There is never a typical Friday night but usually I would be socializing with friends or doing something creative/artistic.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Because my primary and I have a long distance relationship currently, I sometimes still feel lonely and still long to really get to know people on a deep personal level. Yet this is paradoxically not easy in today's hyper connected world! Or as Billy Bragg so eloquently put it "we cross like ships in the night or cars in a contraflow system."
