I'm an interesting human being, and I tend to like other interesting human beings. There's an awful lot of things in this world I find interesting, some for longer periods than others, so I tend to be drawn to many different types of people. I'm open, caring, accepting, and sweet, yet smart enough to weed out the many assholes who don't deserve my time or energy.

In the interest of full disclosure, I put myself down as bi but pansexual would be more appropriate. I like individuals. Their gender has very little to do with my attraction to them.

I'm exploring the hidden biways of my soul. I'm spelunking in the caverns of my self. I'm hiking the twisting trails of my brain. I'm coming up with more and more ridiculous metaphores on a daily basis.

Basically, I'm learning. About myself, about others, about how others affect me and how I affect others. It sounds remarkably self absorbed. And I suppose it is... I'm at a point in my life where it's necessary. And I'm enjoying it. I'm interested in casual, intimate, fascinating connections with other human beings, but I'm not really looking for a life partner at the moment.

Words. I love words. I'm good at talking, good at typing, great at reading. I'm a wonderful listener, unless we're surrounded by shiny things, in which case I'm easily distracted. But get me in a room by ourselves, and I'm golden.
I'm not a very good speller, but I'm excellent at making up words and convincing you that you have just never heard them before, doubtless due to an unsightly ignorance. I'm also amazing at ignoring grammatical rules when it suits me.

I've just discovered a new thing I'm terribly good at. Having fun fucking with the heads of people who IM me looking to have a dirty little chat. Now, don't get me wrong. I don't actually have a problem with dirty little chats. But generally not with complete and total strangers. Especially asshole strangers who didn't bother to read my profile. So, if you IM me and ask me what I'm wearing, or what I to do for "fun" ::nudge nudge wink wink::, I'm going to tell you I'm wearing my Fonzie suit and that I really enjoy peeing in peoples ears. For the 1% of the population who finds that hot, I don't judge you.

Current favorite books: Dune, the Sandman series (anything by Neil Gaiman), the Harry Potter series, The Book of the Dun Cow, cheap vampire erotica (really, any well written erotica), Cryptomonicon, Hitchhikers Guide, The Black Company by Glen Cook, Godel Escher Bach, anything by Richard Feynman (who I have a giant crush on), anything by Barbara Kingsolver, most Christopher Moore, most Orson Scott Card (though I deplore his politics and find his newer fiction to be thoroughly loony). Phantoms in the Brain; I've been a bit obsessed with V.S. Ramachandran since I was in my early twenties, and I recently got the opportunity to hear him speak at Lewis and Clark. It did nothing to alleviate my crush, in fact it made it worse. He's this cocky little Indian man with a brain that just sings, and there is something remarkably sexy about that. Eh, what can I say. I've had a crush on Stephen Hawking since I was in 5th grade and dressed up as him for our science fair. I like brainz.

Love most food. But I'm a sucker for pumpernickel toast, slathered with butter, and served with Earl Gray tea that has enough sugar and milk in it to offend the most lackadaisical tea drinker.

Wait! I changed my mind! I've recently come to the conclusion that I really can't be without good scotch, good books, good friends, and good fucking. With those things, I can be pretty damn happy.

Terrible things.

Hanging out at my favorite little beer bar, generally smoking a cigar with my cigar smoking buddy. I don't let myself do it often, but I really love a good cigar. Friday nights are perfect for sitting outside, drinking a high alcohol content stout, and smoking a nice Churchill. My friend(s) and I enjoy enjoy people watching, and there's an awful lot of people to be watched out and about downtown on a Friday night. Most of them suck, but what are you going to do?
