Human language has a word to describe a boy's persistence in winning a girls heart: wooing. To woo someone, you have to desire [to be with] them. For girls, on the other hand, it is just as important to feel wooed, even if only to estimate the boy's intentions.
Now how can anyone desire to be with someone they've never even met/heard/seen/etc.?!
How similar faith and knowledge are.. aren't they both just a tool to make decisions? Take bus schedule for instance, it says 'there is a bus at 10:15'. We can't know for sure it'll be there, so we have to believe it, and we behave as if we knew it, i.e. show up a few minutes before 10:15.
