*FYI: I'm moving out of the country soon for grad school.*

I was born in the South, moved to New England for a little bit, then back to the South, then spent high school in the Bay Area. The occasional "y'all", "yonder", or "wicked", may slip out from time to time, but to my knowledge I don't have any sort of regional accent.
I am a recent SF transplant. I played in some bands for several
years of my adult life, and did A LOT of traveling inside and
outside of that. Now I'm at UCR, and I'm really bad at finding
interesting, like-minded people around here.

I am studying philosophy at UCR. I'm specifically interested in taking up the Socratic imperative and examining a life from three perspectives: birth, how the subjective conditions into which each of us are born shapes aspects of the world as relevant to us as subjects within it; death, how understanding our finitude as momentary beings shapes our drives and desires in the world, including our attempts to piece together the world as meaningful; and loving, how through loving various portions of the world we create meaning for us and come to create the world as "knowable", and can serve to rescue us from the pit of nihilism. I hover between 20th Century continental philosophy, and various aspects of eastern philosophy—most specifically Buddhism and Chuang Tzu's Taoism.

I spend the rest of my time cycling for the most part.

I'm 5' 9"(maybe?) and hang around 138 lbs, so obviously I'm not a big guy; I'm not a Carl Weathers, par example.
