My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I know who I am with the occasional redefining, based upon new experiences. I view life as an experience to define who we are not find ourselves.

I come of a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, however I would most strongly identify as Mi'kmaq. With Hawaiian, Filipino, and Irish coming second.

I lean towards the geeky side, but I've also been called over educated as well.

I find pulling apart and tweeking my computer to be helpful in reducing stress. Playing Jazz guitar, poorly, also has the same effect.

For the record I am an Atheist. I do draw a line between spirituality and religion. I find the former to be a beautiful aspect of the human condition; the other I'll withhold my opinion of here.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently I work two jobs by day I work in I.T. as a Technician, by night I teach undergraduate classes at a local university.

I'm currently working on a Doctoral Degree in Education.

In January of 2012 I started learning to play guitar. It's a work in progress, still.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am an amazing cook, or so I've been told.. I believe that being able to blend the flavors of various foods into a dish is an art form in and of itself. The real challenge of it is to create a unique flavor, that carries subtle traces of the flavors of the ingredients. I feel myself as a novice at this art, but so many disagree with that assessment I must acknowledge the talent. Beyond that cooking for me is a means of expressing love for others, be they friends, family, or a significant other. The reward to this is seeing the enjoyment of those important to me as they eat, of course stuffing themselves on my food is also a worthwhile compliment that words alone just cannot express. New ideas randomly come into my head, and most are actually fairly good. Also guess having the blade control of an experience swordsman helps a bit too.

I have a natural aptitude with technology, although many of my past instructors have told, me that I have an ass backwards way of tackling a problem, but I find some of the most creative solutions they've seen

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

As far as books go I prefer the following Genres: Science fiction, fantasy, and of course independently published books are great, even if most are hit and miss. Recently finished books include:"We Were Not The Savages" And "Vibrational Passage" - I know the authoroif this one.

Anything anime, Favorites include: Record of Lodoss War, Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040, Blue Seed, Hellsing, Guyver, The Irresponsible Captain Tylor, Black Blood Brothers, Rune Soldier, Hyper Police, & Slayers.

Also a big fan of martial arts movies( the ones from Hong Kong and Japan) Favorites include: Duel to the Death, The Storm Riders, The Duel, Reborn From Hell, Kunoichi, Kung Fu Hustle.
For these two genres I prefer subtitles over dubs.

As for movies, I prefer something with a solid storyline to it, though a pointless action film, or comedy is a good break every now and then. Favorites include: Lord of the Rings Trilogy, most comic book movies, Star Wars, Resident Evil, Josie and the Pussycats, The Warrior's Way, and just about anything CG. Also anything by the following directors, is automatically on my list: Tim Burton, Kevin Smith, Peter Jackson, And most of George Lucas' works.

As far as TV goes. If it's on The Discovery Channel, The History Channel, or national Geographic I'll watch it, outside of that my favorite shows would have to be Scrubs and Eureka, sadly both have been canceled. I do also enjoy the Works of Seth McFarland. I'll give just about any show a chance.

Small sample of what's in the iTunes folder on my PC:
3 Doors Down, 311, Blue October, Breaking Benjamin, The Dreaming, Stabbing Westward, Daft Punk, Sheryl Crowe, Hammerfall, Mae, Nickleback, Ozzy, Papa Roach, Puddle of Mud, Queen, Ra, Slipknot, Three Days Grace, In This Moment, The Who, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Mae, Diana Krall, IZ, just to list a few.

Food is difficult as I enjoy cooking. You can trust my skills in the kitchen as I am not a skinny chef. I'm willing to try just about anything though. This may be odd, but the foods I enjoy the most are the ones I have the hardest times making. Though if we're referring to going out for a meal, I find that the hole in the wall places are often the best ones to go too. I no longer eat Shrimp, Crab, or Lobster though developed allergies – which royally sucks since I know what I’m missing.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My sister,
a decent selection of entertainment(music, books, video),
my Computer, or enough parts to build one
my desire to try new things,
my guitar
the spiritual connection I share with my people(Mi'kmaq)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Philosophy was my minor, let's not go there.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
It depends. I could be working, tutoring a Student, at a Karaoke bar with my co-workers, Driving around aimlessly.......
So ummm it depends.

I guess I'm really close to my sister. She'd be the first member of my family anyone meets, either her or my cousin Lia.

I was engaged before, but it didn't work out; she died. My only regret is how things ended, not what we shared.

Also I'm afraid of heights(isle seat on a plane thank you) and spiders.

I'm not looking for anything long distance, I do consider the other islands to be long distance.

Understand that if you do message me I am likely to reply within 3 days. Feel free to sling an insult my way if I don't. I'm not the type to get offended very easily. I will reply to wink's, but if your profile has nothing that catches my attention, you may not like it.

Something in my profile grabs your attention, or you feel like it.

You are feeling generous enough to save me from my studies. I'm serious on this one.
