My self-summary
I am a writer, teacher, singer, self-proclaimed Quaintrelle, nemophilist, elegant layabout, and hobbyist with laughably idealistic yearnings.

I graduated from University of California Santa Barbara and I majored in English with a specialization in Victorian Literature. I can speak Japanese, I'm a coffee and tea addict, wine connoisseur, an artist, I enjoy reading, learning new languages (I've taken Mandarin, French, Japanese, and Spanish), and music (Piano, ukulele, flute, voice,) and I daydream far too much.

I love pugs and I have a black pug named Zuul.

For Myer-briggs fans, I'm an INFP personality type. Or sometimes an INFJ. Depends on the day, I guess.
What I’m doing with my life
I've written a series fantasy/steampunk books-- which includes a main trilogy and a novella. The first one is published! Check it out on Amazon if you're interested, search A. R. Meyering :) I've also written another novel called Unreal City, and I'm writing another book called The Resurrectionist.

I just released an album of 10 original songs that I sang and wrote.

I'm a substitute teacher, and I think it's a pretty great gig. I love working with young folks. Art is something that I do on the side too, usually digital but sometimes I work with traditional mediums as well.

Traveling is passion of mine. I've stayed in Japan for a month and studied abroad in Scotland for a summer, as well as visiting various other destinations. I'd like to do more of that.
I’m really good at
Liking Disney and petting cats.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably the fact that I have a 4-foot alligator tail. So weird, I know. Workin' on getting that removed.

The six things I could never do without
I'm just going to go ahead skip that stupid family/air/food/computer BS that everyone does. Yes, we're all human... we need sustenance and social interaction.

.Creative expression
.Beautiful things
.Video games
.Caffeinated beverages
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where all the good men have gone, and where all the gods are... like, where even is the streetwise Hercules to fight the rising odds? Am I right?
And Nicolas Cage.
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am made of pure derp. If you don't mind an awkward, easily-distracted, spacey brain, then you'll probably be okay with me.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 22–30
  • Near me
  • For new friends
You should message me if
I am dating someone right now, and very happily so, HOWEVER I am always very excited to make new friends, so please drop me a message if that's your interest as well.

You know who Joseph Campbell is and you think he's amazing.

You'd like to have long conversations about nothing.

You have the courage to be much too passionate about everything you do and everyone you know.

Or you think compassion is either the most important or one of the most important qualities of being a human. I'm not looking for someone who tries too hard to be cool. I'm looking for someone who appreciates and embodies love, tenderness, beauty, simplicity, laughter, adventure, and loyalty. I like a person who is more interested in taking a walk in the woods or curling up for a night of movies and esoteric conversation than going to clubs or concerts. Most importantly, I'm not here for a cheap, short-lived fling.
Homophobes, religious zealots, condescending mean-folk, elitists, drama-llamas, people with no sense of humor, and those who even mildly dislike Disneyland need not apply.
