My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Where culture, history and fun are always having a threeway.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Moving forward in time, often in space.

Sometimes I produce documentaries and sometimes I work as a television editor.

And I suppose the rest of the time is spent trying to either learn something interesting, or have a good time. Or both.

Anytime left over I try to get outside somewhere. Deserts and mountains are the most preferable.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I got packing for a camping trip down.

Buying concert tickets.

I'm not too shabby with a camera.

And sarcasm. Though I suppose people on the other end of the sarcasm are not always so amused.

I also have the ability to justify anything. It's a dangerous power that I do not wield lightly.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
People usually tell me that I look familiar. Either someone they know, or someone famous. I try to convince them that they are psychic by saying I will be famous and that they met me on the cusp of fame.

I am perpetually surprised about the attention I get with a beard. It's like some secret club where you get nods from other beards. Weird.

Oh yeah, and the sarcasm thing. Which I refer to as the emotional Swiss Army Knife. It slices, it dices, it does it all!!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm never a big fan of making lists of my "favs".

The list of books alone... well I don't know where to start. Though I will say that somehow I've been on an American history run for the past few years. You would be surprised at how far a little knowledge of American history can go in a modern political discussion.

I do seem to have a liking for the Russian authors, Nabokov, Gogol, Dostoevsky, Bulgakov.

And I think I'm the only one who refers to Moby Dick as being "funny".

I work in TV, so that's a complex question. I will say the only thing I watch regularly is the Colbert Report and the Daily Show. Newstainment at its finest.

Is whiskey a food?

I will say that I have seen the Life Aquatic too many times to count. I think having a boat traveling the world doing projects is my career goal.

And I Heart Huckabees just makes sense to me.

I did recently see the most amazing play this winter, A Bengal Tiger in the Baghdad Zoo. That was something.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Projects. And where to travel next. And how to get paid traveling for projects.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
There is a subtle difference between a Friday and Saturday night. This question would better be suited by asking about Saturday. Which my answer would be, "Out and about". Though I did spend last Saturday night assembling Ikea. Go figure.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm from Ohio.

Any of my vague, non-committal answers seem at all amusing. Or if you are looking for some quality entertainment.
