My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hello, I'm me. Reducing a person to lines of text is one of the greatest tasks a writer faces, and I'm not about to attempt it in five hundred words or less. So let's put emphasis on the 'summary'.

I spend much of my time working. It's not a glamorous job, or even a good one, but it keeps my rent paid and my belly full so I keep slogging along week after week.

Free time is fun time. My interests like to scatter around quite a bit but I keep coming back to the same few activities. On the top of my hobbies list is writing, especially fantasy and other speculative fiction. I can spend hours pecking away at the keyboard with a little grin on my face and an uncomfortable tingling in my foot where it's fallen asleep. Silly foot, stop making me walk around, I must write!

I spend a lot of my free time just hanging out with friends. Even when I'm doing something else I'll usually have a chat window open. I run a PnP with them on Wednesdays, which for those of you who don't know is a game in the style of Dungeons and Dragons, except instead of fell beasts and mighty warriors we have mutated monsters and savvy scavengers in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Lately I've been drawing again too. Nothing great so far, but practice is bringing me closer to perfection and I'm enjoying the journey. So much so that I'm considering a tablet to make digital art easier to produce.

That's a list of what I do. I'm more than a list of activities, but personality is hard to show in such a short space, and I hate to just tell. Far better, I think, to get to know each other rather than just tell each other about ourselves.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Writing! I'm no J.K. Rowling, or even a Jim Butcher, but I enjoy throwing words at a page and making a story appear. Maybe one day, if the stars align just right, I might get published. But I'm not planning my retirement on it.

When I'm not writing, which is often, I'm working my low-end retail job or playing video games (read: procrastinating). My hope is to either move up in the retail store I work at, or to get in at one of the better factories in the area, because financial stability is magic!

I've also returned to drawing after a multi-year hiatus. My old skills are coming back to me and even being surpassed with a generous application of practice.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
If you've gotten this far and haven't already guessed 'writing', good! I think I'm a good writer, but life is about more than one hobby. I love video games, and if you happen to play League of Legends I'd be happy to exchange usernames. I ride a bicycle as my main form of transportation, which is a great way to keep in shape without being a fitness nut. Not that I don't like fitness nuts, I just don't have the desire to be one.

I'm great at listening, by which I mean I'm bad at talking. I'm one of those socially awkward people who can string a few sentences together, but is generally happy to sit and listen to others talk. I open up quite a bit once I've gotten to know a person.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm tall, occasionally loud when with close friends, and tend to look distracted when by myself.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'll do my top two books, shows, and movies. These tend to change from time to time, but here's what's current:

The Dresden Files. I'm putting that one right at the top. Jim Butcher is a genius of urban fantasy and, straight as I am, I would have his fiction-babies if it were biologically feasible.

Lord of the Rings. Epic fantasy is probably my favorite genre, and LotR is the granddaddy of it all. Has epic fantasy been done better? Maybe. But this is the story that started it all, but the genre and my love of the genre.

Firefly. Hands down my favorite TV show of all time. The characters, the setting, the conflicts... it's just amazing in so many ways.

Doctor Who is my favorite currently-running TV show. Ten is the best Doctor, and if you don't agree then we can't be friends. Well... ok, we can be friends, but I might occasionally nag you about it.

Serenity. It's probably cheating that my favorite movie is a continuation of my favorite show, but this is my profile so I decide the rules.

Pacific Rim. I'm a sucker for well-done mindless action. Giant robots fighting giant monsters? I don't care if the plot is predictable or the characters flat, I want to watch Optimus Prime punch the lights out of Godzilla!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The cosmological constant. (Take that, people who say 'air'!)

Learning. I collect nifty facts about science and history.

Writing. It's my favorite hobby and great fun!

My computer. A connection to the world, all the information of humanity at my fingertips? Yes please.

Friendship. It really is magic.

Air. (Take that, me!)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The stories I'm crafting. Science. Religion. Why my foot is so itchy right now. Ahh, it felt good to scratch my foot. Stream-of-consciousness writing.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working, sadly. Thursdays are generally my best night for doing stuff.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Admit? I'm not sure. Show? My writing. I might talk about it to anyone who asks, but I have to like you before I'll show much off. Not that there's much to show, I tend to delete stories that aren't going anywhere.
