My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Laughing and making other people laugh are necessary elements in my life. I'm lucky enough to know some of the funniest people (in my opinion) in Buffalo.

I've been known to impress my friends with my encyclopedic knowledge of movie quotes and trivia. Sitting outside a coffee shop in the summertime and people watching is up there among my favorite things to do. I like sports, hockey especially, and don't really care if you want to spend all Sunday watching football. Trust me, I can occupy myself for the day, and if the Bills are playing I will probably watch and curse with you. (And, of course, say horrible things about Tom Brady if we are playing the Patriots.)

I'm a suburban-raised, SUV-driving, white girl, but I have a secret love of rap music, and still know all the words to Shoop by Salt-n-Pepa. I have a cat that I love, but I still consider myself a dog person. Spring is my favorite time of year; even though I've lived in Buffalo my whole life, I really hate snow. I love a good power nap in the afternoon, and reading in bed on a rainy weekend morning. I've recently become interested in gardening, though right now my flower beds are more of a work in progress. I've also started exercising regularly again, (I'm kind of obsessed with spinning) and trying to be more healthy in general. I don't like to exercise, but I do feel great when I'm done!

A sense of humor is really important to me; if you don't like or get my jokes, or if you don't make any jokes of your own, we might not be a good fit. Life can be ridiculous, and I want to find someone who appreciates those moments as much as I do. As a teacher, education is important to me. You don't have to be brilliant, (I cetainly am not) but I would love to meet someone who enjoys reading as much as I do. While I am not looking for someone to take care of me, I'd like someone whose personality compliments mine, someone who has interests outside of a relationship, but also wants to do things as a couple. I'm pretty happy with how my life is going at the moment, and I can't wait to see what the future holds. If any of this strikes your fancy, send me a message! If worse comes to worse, we can always instate the Barney Stinson Lemon Law.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I used to work at a soul-sucking office job, but I decided to go back to school and do something I actually want to do for the rest of my life. I was just hired as an adjunct professor at a local college, and I'm really excited to get started. I also have a degree in theatre performance, so I like to act in plays and musicals.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I take voice lessons once a week, so I'm a pretty good singer.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't know, since the first thing I usually notice about me is the fact that I spilled something on myself at some point during the day, or that I have a zit on my face.

I love to read--it's one of my favorite things to do. Favorite books include Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion, Anne of Green Gables, and Howard's End. I just finished reading "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter". I had to read a lot of scholarly articles and criticism for grad school. Nothing like social justice theory for some light, weekend reading. I'm looking forward to reading for fun, not just school.

I watch The Big Bang Theory, Arrested Development, (I'm so glad it's back!) The Daily Show, Colbert Report and I have an unhealthy addiction to the Investigation Discovery channel. I can watch shows that talk about serial killers, and young women who go missing in the middle of the night, but scary movies freak me the f out. Go figure.

Some of my favorite movies are "The Princess Bride", "Slapshot", "Labyrinth" (actually, anything with the Muppets),"Young Frankenstein" "The 40 Year Old Virgin" and "Secretary". If it's funny and won't make me cry, I'll probably love it.

Asking me to choose favorite music is pretty much impossible. Even though I was raised on 60's music, courtesy of my parents, I'll be the first one to tell you I have crappy taste in music (I love "Call Me Maybe". There. I said it. ) I listen to just about everything except scream-o stuff.

I'm actually kind of shy, especially when I have to step out of my comfort zone...emailing guys on dating websites is out of my comfort zone. I know, I'm working on it.

You think we would be a good fit! I'm always open to meeting new people, especially people who have a dry, somewhat dark, sense of humor like I do.
