My self-summary
Intellectually curious, nurturing, love to cook, love NPR, hate Republicans (can I say that here?), think that Frasier & Married with Children are God's gift to TV, love French food (I always go to the Carribou Cafe at 12th & Walnut), think that's it's important to be nice to people, and that I always like meeting interesting people and trying new things.

This curiosity takes me to events this past year such as the Philly Tweed Ride, Dorian's Parlor Steampunk parties, and the Jazz Age Lawn & Garden Parties in NYC.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm somebody who tries to make art & culture an everyday part of my life.

Also, trying to make Philadelphia a better place to live. Am active in city planning workshops to allow more parks and open spaces. Would also like to see better public transit options as well as better biking roads.

Lastly, am trying to embrace my independence while trying to find a meaningful relationship.
I’m really good at
I'm a really good conversationalist. But at the same time I am a good listener. Am also very loyal to my friends.
The first things people usually notice about me
My glasses. Why? I don't know.

That I'm a snappy dresser.

That and I'm a well-read person who has an open and curious mind.

I'm cute in an A-dork-able kinda way.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite movie would have to be "Muriel's Wedding" because it's one of the best movies ever made about accepting yourself.

Love movies at the Ritz and have been a fan of the Philadelphia International Film Festival for years.

Blazing Saddles is still the funniest movie ever made and what's not to love about Shaun of the Dead?

Also really like French New Wave cinema from the 1960's such as Breathless and Band of Outsiders and directors like Truffaut and Goddard.

I love everything from classical, progressive house, to punk, to ska. Everything from Bach & Hayden, to DJ Josh Wink and King Britt, to Sex Pistols and Slits, to the Smiths & the Jam, and the Specials and the Pietasters.

Have been an avid reader of the New Yorker magazine for years. Somerset Maugham is criminally underrated and speaking of short stories---Canadian writer Alice Munro and Irish writer William Trevor are the best short story writers around today.

Also really liked "The Lover" by Marguerite Duras. She shows that women know more about love by the time they are 18 than most men ever will in their entire lives. No?

And I have to add "Guns, Germs, and Steel" by Jared Diamond. Probably one the most influential books I've ever read. The book really changed how I see the world. Highly recomend it.
The six things I could never do without
My favorite cashmere sweater on a cold winter morning.

A good cup of french press Sumatra blend coffee.

My books.

My down comforter.

My pops. I love him dearly.

My cat Chloe who is essentially my daughter.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Traveling to Asia someday. I think I'd like to visit India and China. I'm something of a geography buff. I definitely like learning about different cultures and how other people live around the world.

Speaking of Eastern philosophy--like most Budhists I wonder about how to make a permanent difference in the world when so much of it is so temporary. How do you create something lasting?
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually at the gym at my spinning class. I love bike riding and when I can't get that in I always hit my spinning class.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That at 5'4" I'm insecure about my height.

This is going to sound silly but I happen to have a crush on girls who wear glasses. Is that weird?
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 35–45
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
Because I try and take my partner's feelings into consideration.

Also, I'm spontaneous and up to doing new things.

I'm a loyal friend who believes in helping out the ones you love.

I don't have any neck tatoos, no illegitimate children, and no outstanding arrest warrants.

I can cook a meal from scratch, change a diaper, take out the trash, and put together an outfit.

And finally, as I said to the Archbishop, "I prefer to live in big cities....better to hide my sins!"
