I am a left-handed INTJ. Whatever that means.
I like to challenge myself by regularly doing things that force me out of my comfort zone. So far this has resulted in a degree in mathematics, moving across the country to start a life in a town where I'd never been before and knew absolutely no one, coaching elite athletes (and learning from Olympic medalists!), writing & editing a textbook, engineering for an aerospace company, pursuing a career in tech, and now learning Mandarin.
I live and love honestly and intensely. To share a life with me, you must be active, engaged, purposeful. Otherwise you won't be able to keep up. It will also be to your benefit if you are a morning person. :D
I'm almost always learning something new. Right now I'm learning Mandarin and Spanish, and I'm taking an online computer science class to continue improving my technical skillz. Fun! ^_^
And whatever else I set my mind to. I get that from my mom. Thanks mom!
Books (Fiction): I just finished A Wild Sheep Chase, and I think it's a safe bet there will be a lot more Haruki Murakami in my future. Other enduring favorites include The Sound and the Fury, Moby Dick, and pretty much anything from Jules Verne. Ooh, and Sufi poetry.
Movies: A Beautiful Mind, The Avengers, Bridesmaids, Mulan, Wall-E (robot love!!)
Music: Explosions in the Sky, and I can't get enough of that womp womp unce unce unce. Also, anything that I can get away with singing badly in my car - usually 90s boy bands. Sorry I'm not sorry.
Classical Composers: Most of the Russians, plus Vivaldi (really though, who doesn't love Vivaldi?). I get that from my dad. Thanks dad!
Comics: The Oatmeal, xkcd, Foxtrot
Musicals: Rent, Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables
Food: Chinese, Indian
Nice to haves:
- the color pink
- eating pie on Pi Day
- watching the annual Perseids meteor shower
Bonus points if you can help me with Mandarin. :)
