I am quirky, snarky, and outspoken.

My Self-Summary

Let me precede this by saying I am aware that my profile is entirely too long. I apologize. But if you get through the whole thing, you get bonus points :)

Ok. Now. I'm going to write some random sentences about myself, and you can put them together in whatever order you wish and see what you come up with. I'm what I'd like to call a "fantastic specimen of humanity" aka "a fairly average girl." I like to think that I'm fairly intelligent, which I can back up by using big words but which can be disproved entirely by my complete lack of common sense. I like to read, watch movies, and partake in conversations about just about anything. I like to drink tea, alcohol and coffee, mostly because those tend to be social activities and I like being around people. I love to paint and play piano. I get endless joy from little things, like gummy vitamins for adults or free wi-fi on my airplane flight.

I sometimes have a second paragraph which I change when I get bored.

What I’m doing with my life

I am in a grad program at NYU for Visual Arts Administration, which will hopefully lead to my working at an art museum or gallery. It is kind of hardcore and requires me to spend a shit ton of time at museums and galleries. If you like spending all your free time in museums and galleries, therefore, this would be a plus.

*edit* I am now actually interning at TWO different museums, so I spend a good 30+ hours a week between them. Therefore I have cut back on my extracurricular museum-age. I still go, but this semester's classes require less of it so I'm taking full advantage of that fact.

I’m really good at

math, games (card and board, excluding chess), working quickly, baking (though I don't do it often), overusing parentheses and ellipses in my writing ;)

I am also moderately good at playing piano and painting, but (as mentioned previously) I enjoy them more than most other things so I find them worth mentioning.

The first things people usually notice about me

I look like Snow White. Or a zombie. Or zombie Snow White.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, anything by Dianna Wynne Jones, both of the Stargirl books, A Great and Terrible Beauty and its 2 sequels, Catcher in the Rye, and various others. I don't leisure read as much as I used to anymore, because I have too much school reading. When I do, I tend to end up with young adult fiction or fantasy books, just for a light, fun story. I'm open to suggestions though. I used to read A LOT so I can only mention as favorites things that I have bothered to read more than once.

Movies: The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys, Igby Goes Down, Moulin Rouge, Saved!, Empire Records, Newsies, Most Jane Austen adaptations, Stardust, Clue, The Prestige and anything else with a really crazy twist that makes your head explode a little, foreign films in general because I LOVE subtitles (I know that's odd) etc etc etc

TV: (unasked but provided anyway!) Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Scrubs, NCIS, True Blood, Dollhouse, Glee

Food: I'll try ALMOST anything once. I love Indian, Middle Eastern, Mexican & Italian (both the more authentic and Americanized kinds)

The six things I could never do without

Internet. Cell phone. Piano. Reading material. Physical & emotional affection. Art. I am writing this assuming that friends and family, air and water, shelter, etc etc are not relevant because I find it annoying when people use those things as their answers. No shit sherlock.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Why everyone who is on this site works in the music industry, reads Vonnegut and loved Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (fyi yes I liked that movie, but it is still a weird recurring pattern)

On a typical Friday night I am

I think this narrows down to two basic categories: bars and homework. Never at the same time.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm intelligent but not necessarily an intellectual, and am sometimes kind of ashamed of my taste in books and movies because they aren't brainy enough.

You should message me if
