My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Well, I enjoy music and movies tremendously, very open minded and love to try new things. I'm a bit nerdy and enjoy learning. I dislike drama a lot, which usually means I'm pretty confrontational about problems in my life. I like camping, especially when it's cold/rainy out. I also like archery, but haven't practiced in a while.

I'm also very big on equality in relationships and don't buy in to gender roles.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to enjoy life by creating new experiences for myself...whatever that may be. I am at the point right now where I'd like to travel more, which is what I'm working on. Want a travel buddy? I need one, myself. I'm a nerd by profession (I help run a local game store business) and I enjoy it.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Seeing through bullshit. Being blunt. Being a sarcastic ass sometimes. Being open minded. (Really these are traits I admire and try to aspire to).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My smile and my red beard/facial hair I suppose. My eyes? I'm not sure. Most people don't really tell you these sorts of things.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I'll just list a few for each (most classics will not be included):

Books: Laurell K. Hamilton, Jim Butcher, Dean Koontz, J.R.R. Tolkien, Sun Tzu, Harper Lee, Neal Stephenson, Edgar Allen Poe, Dylan Thomas, and Miyamoto Musashi are some of my favorite authors.

Movies: Generally anything that can convey its emotion well enough with some cleverness usually gets my attention. I will say I'm a huge cinephile and usually prefer foreign/independent movies: The Fountain, Requiem for a Dream, Stay, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Heights, anything by Kevin Smith, Serenity, Star Wars, Moulin Rouge, Legend, The Princess Bride, Best in Show, Labyrinth, Goonies, The Dark Crystal, The Neverending Story (the first one), Lord of the Rings, Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Perfume: Story of a Murderer, The Squid and the Whale, Shortbus, Rocky Horror Picture Show, lots and lots of foreign movies (Cache, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Amelie, Roman De Gare, The Lives of Others, Avenue Montaigne, Apres Vous, Walk on Water, Seven Samurai, City of Lost Children, 2046, Run Lola Run, Let the Right One In, and The Host just to name a few); Satellite, Dancer in the Dark, Clay Pigeons, 500 Days of Summer, Half Nelson, Harold and Maude, The Fall, Lars and the Real Girl, Adventures of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, Brick, American History X, Much Ado About Nothing, Secretary, American Psycho, Inception, Dark City, Usual Suspects, Seven, Memento, Leon: The Professional, The Fifth Element, The Secret of Kells, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Blade Runner, Donnie Darko, anything by Quentin Tarantino, Death at a Funeral (the British version), Kinky Boots, Moon, anything by Joss Whedon...the list goes on and on.

Shows: How I Met Your Mother, Battlestar Galactica (which happens to be the greatest show of all time), Bones, Family Guy, Firely, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Futurama, Dexter, Game of Thrones, Big Bang Theory, Rome, the 1995 X-Men series, Sherlock (the British version), 30 Rock, The Newsroom, Peaky Blinders, Wentworth, Orange is the New Black.

Music: Too big of a topic to really list everything, but some favorite bands include Metallica, Dave Matthews Band, Cat Power, Sia, Dimmu Borgir, Junior Boys, old Cradle of Filth, DJ Shadow, DJ Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Devotchka, Baroque, Bach, and some Beethoven; M83, Damien Rice, David Gray, Bjork, Portishead, Muse, Massive Attack, Potlatch, Explosions in the Sky, Thievery Corporation, Amon Amarth, Of Monsters and Men, Opeth, Otep, Orange Betty, Boards of Canada, Regina Spektor, Fiona Apple, Cloudkicker, Tool/APC/Puscifer, In Flames, The Xx.

Food: I am willing to try anything once; I love veggies and lamb, sushi, soups, spiced meat. Call me crazy, but I love tofu and tempeh. I love Thai and Japanese food as well. My weakness is probably potatoes any form.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Hmm, movies, red wine, music, shower, new socks, toothpicks. Obviously I could do without these things, but I went with a more indulgent list instead of practical.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Philosophy, religion, my future, science, music, whether Leia had a thing for Luke; if Starbuck was really dead the whole time. How silly it seems that people have "deal breakers" on an online dating site before at least talking to the person they're otherwise interested in (yes, even despite their match percentage). How tragic it is that if a woman is a sexual being she's automatically a "slut", and if a man is it means he's just trying to hook up and/or has commitment issues. How easy life can be when we just talk to each other.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably staying in and watching BSG, Firefly or TNG (we can do the TNG vs. TOS debate; bring it on), but I do occasionally like to go out to the bar. I mean...PARTYING, WOOOO!!!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I didn't take a lot of the questions on here too seriously. While they are honest answers, I don't believe you can really fully get to know someone until you at least talk to them. I love cats and actively dislike Dr. Who (I know, I know). Being referred to as a "CIS male" is actually really offensive and I would prefer not to be labelled as such. While I do identify as a straight male and am an avid human rights and pro-choice supporter, lover of LGBT and queer communities, and have been told I'm a closet feminist, I have only ever experienced the CIS label in a derogatory and demeaning manner. If you wouldn't like me labeling you, but instead would like the freedom to label and define yourself, why shouldn't others have that freedom?

Also...I kind of want to marry Eddie Izzard, COVERED in makeup.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're an open minded person who doesn't mind hanging out at home watching movies with some good wine once in a while. Who is content having their own space and own activities/hobbies. Who doesn't necessarily buy in to a lot of society's bullshit.

You're not homo/queer/trans/woman/CIS/bi/human phobic, but above that that you can be open enough to accept that they aren't any different than you are. Leave your judgmental, bigoted ass at the door.
