My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I grew up in the Bay Area and moved to Monterey for work. I love my career – working primarily with older adults. I feel extremely fulfilled by the work that I do, and am eager to improve.

I have been volunteering with Team in Training for the past several years, coaching with their local marathon run team. I’ve done several full and half marathons, and am hoping to get more comfortable on the bike – maybe do some cycle events or tri’s. I enjoy challenging hikes, and am starting to get into backpacking.

Overall, I’m a happy, goofy girl, who values the simple and straight forward. I need fresh air, sunshine, and laughter. I’m perfectly content reading a book on Friday night, and don’t feel that I’m missing anything by not having a TV. I love my parents, admire their achievements, and value their advice. I grew up hearing the voices on NPR, and love hearing stories on This American Life and RadioLab. I find baking somewhat therapeutic, but won’t fuss over meals for myself.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I’m trying to figure out what I want.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Self-deprecation, laughing, wasting time. I almost won a knot-tying competition once. haha! We can’t all be above average, can we?
The first things people usually notice about me

I've been told that my smile gets attention.

When I get books, I tend to get 3 or 4 at once, and then get distracted doing god knows what. I like fiction, travel books, health/medicine-related stories. No sci-fi, either books or movies – though Chewbacca has a special place in my heart. Horror/suspense films give me bad dreams, so I stay away from those. Music: my brother works at a college radio station so my ipod and itunes are filled with his random collections. In the car now though are Thievery Corporation, the Shins, and Death Cab for Cutie… all which I listen to over and over. Food: I eat and enjoy almost everything.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Recently, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about my job, relationships, my friends... About whether I should be doing something different with my free time, about moving north. I think about all the stuff I normally do, and the conversations I'm too chicken-shit to have in real life.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I’m laid back. I’m usually at the pub with colleagues. Otherwise, I'd be at the gym, or lounging at home. Casual evenings.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I can't walk in high heels

...if you have a soul. ;) I think I have fairly realistic expectations, so if I meet a few cool people, I'll be happy. No pressure.
