My self-summary
I'm in-and-out of college, working two jobs and trying to get by. There's a theme-song in there somewhere, I think.

Fun things about me: I've lost over 100 pounds, and kept it off for over two years now. I've survived a school shooting and a riot. I've walked over a mile across a plane of pure ice. I once drove over 100 miles without a GPS or cell phone and with no one knowing where I was going except the person I was seeing. I've been to three continents. I lived in a haunted house. The local pastor felt the house was possessed by demons and performed a church-sanctioned cleansing. (It didn't help.)
I joined a spontaneous parade when Obama was elected. I've seen both a wild mountain lion and a chupacabra in my neighborhood. I was engaged, but she left me for my best friend. They got the house and the pets.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working to become a high-school teacher. I currently work as a site coordinator for children grades k-5. That sounds a bit more glamorous than it really is (mostly making sure they don't hurt themselves and writing paperwork.) I also have another far more menial job that I hate, but which helps to pay the bills. I am certified to do everything but actually teach, so that's what I'm working on now.
I’m really good at
I love game theory and storytelling. ...Which makes me a geek, I do admit it. I also have more than a little talent for science and education. I'm especially good at analyzing graphical and statistical information, for whatever that's worth.

Saying anything else simply sounds like bragging, and I won't stand for it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Lovecraft (H.P.) is my favourite author. I enjoy horror in general, both written and on screen.

I own more soundtracks than any strait man aught to. I also know more musical theatre. Mostly it was my upbringing. I am a huge fan of Avenue Q. However, in this cultural blip area I'm at I'm lucky to see a show at the PM&L twice a year. I also used to act, and I was pretty good at it. But that was many, many years ago.

I'm something of a cineophile, or I was. I worked as a video monkey for 3 1/2 glorious years before the entire business became obsolete. I enjoy horror and children's films. There used to be a bridge there where comedies were, but modern comedy is getting less and less funny to me. Borat, Paul, and Jackass 3D being the exceptions there (which sound like really awful things to admit liking, but there it is.)

Saying "I like all kinds foods" is a little overdone, but I try to be very global in my appreciation of the culinary arts. I think that I appreciate novel food sensations, with newer foods exciting me more. I waver greatly on how much meat I feel like eating. I have given up beef entirely (four years now, yay!) and most of my protein comes from beans. But, I do still eat fish and chicken from time to time. I eat what I want, I've just expanded recently so as to wanting things that are healthier and more environmentally conscious.

My musical tastes are total garbage, but generally fall into up-tempo lyric-oriented rock/pop. My Chemical Romance (their newer stuff), Meatloaf, They Might Be Giants, Weird Al, Lonely Island, Misfits, Steel Panther, Tenacious D.
The six things I could never do without
Nervous system, cardiovascular system, gastric system, skeletal system, lymphatic system, endocrine system.

...too literal?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I used to spend a great deal of mental effort debating religion and ethics. In a good-natured and intellectual way, of course. I was in our school's club for that sort of thing and I enjoyed it greatly. I was also a respected representative of logic, dispassionate reason, and civility in a few internet forums concerning such things.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working. Although, I may go "out with the guys" for cards or the like after.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a Brony. So, um, there's that.

You should message me if
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings,
And never breathe a word about your loss:
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"
