I am intelligent, curious, and humorous.
My Self-Summary
Paula Deen look alike, Paula Deen cook alike (Paula is on the Food
Network in case you need more of a clue). I am semi-retired and
have plenty of time for
travel ,
reading ,
puzzles and music. I have been a teacher
and cival servant and love to take
long drives on blue
highways and see the real country. I recently acquired a little
red convertible and look forward to warm days and nights for
putting the top down. I am originally from the south and still have
a bit of accent. I am politically and personally liberal and like
for everyone to have plenty of room to express thoughts and
opinions.
What I’m doing with my life
I am semi retired but still consulting on my old job. I am a widow
of 6 years from a good marriage so have positive feelings about men
and relationships. I am ready to move on and have some fun.
I’m really good at
Organizing, solving problems, listening to people and finding the
good that lives in us all. I have a talent for talking to people
who are having problems as that is what I have done most of my
working career. It carries over to non-work areas and I am
sometimes approached by strangers to share their problems.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am fun and friendly and have great silver hair.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I love mystery and history reading. Stephen King continues to
facinate me. How can he know what I am thinking? I don't watch a
lot of movies but like the really old ones. I prefer classic rock
but am also good with most types of music. I am a great cook and
especially good with country cooking but also can cook about
anything. I love Mexican and asian foods as well as BBQ and
hamburgers (good ones). I will read almost anything available and
consequently have read some really unusual things.
The six things I could never do without
Mental challenge, books, a car (preferably a convertible), time
alone, mountains (at least occasionally), and someone to share
with.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How I want to spend the rest of my life. No conclusions yet. I have
learned a lot and some things I think may be true are:
*People are who they are for a lot of reasons and usually change
very little except over long periods of time - you are who you are
and should be appreciated as such. Trying to change anyone is like
teaching a pig to sing, it frustrates you and annoys the pig.
*Most people are basically good and will see themselves in a "white
hat" even those we may find puzzling.
*Really listen and you will really understand.
*Even Republicans can be loveable.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out to dinner with family. Home and in bed early with a good book.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I long for adult companionship and someone with whom to share fun
times and make great memories. Lots more and more interesting when
I meet you and the time is right.
You should message me if
You are interested in literate and intelligent conversation and
don't mind a woman with extra pounds and a variety of life
experiences.
