My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Que tal? I'm Shannon. Originally from upstate New York, I've been in Los Angeles for 14 years - 1 year in China = 13 years. I'm the principal of a kindergarten through 8th grade school serving primarily low income students in Echo Park. I love what I do.

If I had a million dollars I would take a year off and travel the world, staying 1 - 2 months in my six or eight favorite destinations. Then go back to work.

Favorite outside activities: hiking, chilling at the beach, playing basketball.

Favorite inside activities: reading, painting, cooking, listening to The Do-Over DJ mixes on Soundcloud (especially DJ Jazzy Jeff's and DJ Zegon's), cooking, dreaming/planning about how to make my school one of the best in California.

One more thing: I've got jokes. And stories-----outrageous ones. I know that was two things.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Principal of a K-8 school in Echo Park.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being quiet and pensive and being charismatic and engaging. Being very confident and very self-deprecating/humble. They're opposites. I know.

And innovating.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I resemble Chris Martin of Coldplay. Not sure if I agree, but I've heard it countless times, including yesterday.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm very passionate about 3 of the above, so I'll just say a few favorites in each.

Books: Fiction --> Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk, This is How You Lose Her, by Junot Diaz, Game of Thrones book one

Movies --> Drive, Savages, Affliction, , and The Notebook (KIDDING). Although I can't wait to see 50 Shades of Grey.

Shows --> Sherlock, Scandal, Revenge.

Music --> Frank Ocean, JT, John Mayer, Kendrick Lamar, Brazilian/Latin music.

Food --> Anything and everything. Indian, Thai, y comida de central y sur america come to mind (especially Brazilian and Argentian). And chicken wings.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Family
2. Close friends
3. Creativity + new ideas
4. Music
5. Traveling abroad at least once per year
6. Passion (towards all things including the one I'm with)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
New ideas and innovation, usually with regards to my school but sometimes new inventions.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either out with friends, or recovering from a long work week by relaxing at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I once recorded a song in R Kelly's studio in Chicago. Looooonnnng story.

You feel like we'd be a good fit. You've got a good sense of humor and are intelligent. Don't stress over what to write, you already did that with your prof = major pluses. Don't stress about what to write----you already did that with your profile. Just holler.
