My self-summary
I've never been much of an essay writer, but i'll give it a shot. I'm not the stereotypical blue collar, uneducated slob. I love to read, prefer movies that are deep, rather than filled with CGI and shallow stories, and i am very pro gay rights. I'm neither a Democrat or Republican. I actually like most aspects of my job, and really would not trade it for any other profession. I'm somewhat mechanically inclined, am pretty handy around the house, and can do most advanced tasks like basic plumbing, drywall, etc... I'm also an avid photographer, with a tendency to seek out and shoot old, obscure, or unique subjects. My last big photography project was finding and shooting 19th century churches and cemeteries around the NW suburbs. There are a lot more around here than you might think!
What I’m doing with my life
Going through physical therapy for a back injury, so i can return to work. Five to six days a week at the gym! It's been hard, and i had a big setback recently. But i'm committed to it again, and making a lot of progress. I'm also trying to improve myself and my life in large ways. First big step was PT. Two weeks ago, i overcame my needle phobia and donated blood. The big, long term goal, other than returning to work, is learning to box. I'm not a violent person, and not even a fan of professional boxing. I just really want to do it. It's fun to beat up the bags. And almost therapeutic in that it helps me blow off some steam. And, i think i have a natural talent for it. I hope to start serious boxing training in the spring, and am really excited about it!
I’m really good at
Driving. I hate normal, boring, everyday driving. But when it comes to "spirited" or emergency driving, i'm awesome. Might seem like a weird response, or just boastful. But it's true, i am awesome behind the wheel!
The first things people usually notice about me
I dunno. I'd like to think it isn't my gut or body odor or something else unpleasant
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm a bit ashamed that i don't read as many fiction books as i would like, but my favourites are Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Godfather, and A Clockwork Orange . I tend to enjoy non-fiction, especially books on art and photography.

Favourite movies are the original version of The Shining, The Blues Brothers, Sixteen Candles, High Fidelity, Clerks, Trainspotting, Lock, Stock, & Two Smoking Barrels (and most of the other Guy Ritchie Gangter movies), Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Starship Troopers, Midnight Cowboy, A Clockwork Orange, Two Lane Blacktop, The Shining, Vanishing Point, The Departed, Scarface... I can go on, but that's enough.

My taste is music is a bit eclectic. I love the blues. I like big band music & swing sometimes. Dean Martin could sing anything and i'd be entranced. I have really been into the Dropkick Murphys, The Tossers, The Dreadnoughts, Flogging Molly, and so on. But i also like metal, celt/irish punk, punk, real country music, 50's doo-wop, classic rock, bad 80s music, and 70s funk. Like i said, eclectic!

Food... I love pizza. And pasta. I've risked my life (and almost been stabbed) because i just had to have a Maxwell St polish sausage at 3am after working downtown. I prefer spicy stuff. I love mexican food, thai, and am getting into japanese cuisine lately. I just can't get enough of cuban food (and that amazing coffee), and one of my all-time favourite restaraunts is a tiny Brazilian corner bar in San Diego. None of that steak on a sword crap. Fish, pork, brahma beer, guarana, and i think they are called pastels? Just amazing. And my ultimate weakness is banana bread and pumpkin bread. And sometimes fried plantains. And green tea ice cream. Oh, and Guinness. Loooooove stout!
The six things I could never do without
Food, water, shelter, warm clothing, intellectual stimulation, and my puppy
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to take over the world....
On a typical Friday night I am
At the gym. I'm not very exciting...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I sometimes like dance/electronic music. It's my secret shame
