My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
According to a highly scientific personality quiz I took once on the Internets, if I were a breed of dog, I would be a Golden Retriever. I am extremely passionate about the things I care about -- my friends and family, my work, liberal politics, music, etc -- but in the day-to-day, I am very easy-going. I am definitely not a wallflower - I love meeting new people and have the confidence and curiosity to get along with just about anyone. I have always had diverse groups of friends to match my diverse interests.

Here are some things I love: live music (esp. rock & blues); anything in the Great Outdoors; parties, great and small; wine bars and dives; re-learning guitar; photography and other creative endeavors; nerdy documentaries; classic literature. I try to balance my more cerebral interests with things that make me laugh, like Arrested Development marathons or my favorite mockumentaries (Hello Cleveland!). My absolute favorite thing to do is travel and explore other cultures; I've spent time living in Africa.

I'm looking for someone who is kind, who is driven but doesn't take himself too seriously, who knows what he wants, and who is fun to be with. Basically I am looking for someone who's adventurous like I am, but who can also help make even the mundane moments into something adventurous and fun.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an attorney in the public sector (a corporate refugee ;). I can't definitively say I will practice law forever, but my work is interesting, inspiring and challenging, and whatever I do has to fulfill these criteria.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
On my recent self-evaluation for work, I accidentally typed that "I am adept at defusing tense situations with humus."

The degree to which we control our own destinies; human nature; the origins of things (e.g., cosmology, evolutionary psychology, sociobiology, etc.). I wish that when I swore it came out in a British accent.
