My self-summary
I'm the manager of the largest, by room count, hotels outside of Miami proper, I work a LOT, but in this day, a great work ethic is a good thing! Like most people, I get two days off a week (well, usually), but I spend one of those days cooking for a local soup kitchen, as a volunteer, and while I may be patting myself on the back, their menu has improved VASTLY since I joined them. 4/10, Arroz con Pollo, baked chicken, cheesy beef macaroni, chicken nuggets, salad with homemade creamy Italian dressing, corn on the cob, and 18 gallons of chicken veggie and rice soup, and of course, desserts...

If you find yourself hungry, and want to drive to Homestead, write me and I will tell you where, ALL are welcome, not just people down on their luck (in fact, we're trying to avoid using the term "soup kitchen", because of its implications. I will try and update my profile every Thursday night or Friday afternoon, to let you know what you missed out on :)

I tend to be too honest with my profile, apparently one has to lie on their profile to get noticed. If someone sends you a message, PLEASE be considerate enough to at least message them back and say "Hi" or "Not interested" - rather than leave them hanging - otherwise you may well get another message from them...Just saying... and on the flipside, if you've seen me having viewed your profile, and I haven't written you yet, it's not because I didn't like what I read, it's probably because I'm in a state of flux right now, and most likely YOU have enough "guy drama" in your life as it is, and so I'm saving you just a little by waiting... :)

Love going out to the Everglades, the Keys, or the coast to take photographs.

I am a staunch member of the Grammar Police, so if you think "u", "r", and "ur" are words, please don't bother. (OK - wait, they're only acceptable when you're sending a message from a phone, abbreviation is OK then). OH OH and the word OFTEN - the "T" is SILENT... phonetically should be "OFF-EN" - no T.. NONE... NADA... NILCH.... I die a little every time some "celebrity" or TV persona says "OFF-TEN"

Anything else you'd like to know, I literally have nothing to hide...
What I’m doing with my life
Cooking, breathing, eating, reading, gaming....

Moved (moving? still some stuff left in the house) into my new apartment! Promoted to Manager of the hotel, and they were gracious enough to offer me an apartment at a price that cannot be beat... Of course, it's also very close TO work, which means I'm easily called-in if need be... but it's worth it. By the way, the zipcode comes up with Homestead, but I will be technically in Florida City (they never updated anything since Homestead was incorporated, and Florida City wasn't, but is now...)
I’m really good at
This is a difficult query to answer without sounding conceited! I guess I'm really good at photography and pretty much anything involving computers (except programming). Oh, and cooking... I help out at the church's "soup kitchen" weekly - though considering during the month of August we were serving lamb, so it's hardly a "soup kitchen" other than that it's free. I was the chef-de-jour this past week - when I have people over for dinner, I normally cook for 4-6 people - this time, I cooked for 140+. Definitely a character-building experience.
The first things people usually notice about me
Height (6'3), intelligence and bright blue eyes :D
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
"Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" [series] (Douglas N. Adams - yes, DNA)

"The Practice Effect" (David Brin)
"The Postman" (David Brin) [even though I know someone that starred in the movie, the movie itself was rather disappointing]
"The Uplift Wars" [series] (David Brin)

"The Legacy of Heorot" & "Beowulf's Children" (Jerry Pournelle and Steven Barnes)

"The World Of Tiers" [series] (Philippe José Farmer)

"The Mist" (Stephen King - novella)

"The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress" (Robert Heinlein) [re-read this last year, never got back my print-copy after lending it out, then found it to put on my iPad - happy camper here :> ]

Pretty much anything by the above listed authors...and many more.... but just realized that's just BOOKS - don't get me started on movies/tv... Oh dang, too late.

"FIREFLY"/"Serenity" (Joss Whedon)
"STAR TREK" (new, old, in between, anything except "Deep Space:9" - never did like that one)
"(The) Fifth Element"
"Buckaroo Bonzai Across The Eighth Dimension" (that's "BIG BOO-TAY!")

Reality TV: Only (ahem) "reality" show I watch is "America's Got Talent".. my two favorites, Jackie Evancho (Opera - and I'm not a big fan of opera), and Melissa Villasenor (comedy/impressions) - look them up on YouTube, but make sure you look for the "America's Got Talent" clips, or you may well get something recorded from someone's phone.
The six things I could never do without
1) Water (though vodka will suffice in a pinch)

2) a good book (though I just sold thousands, I still have several hundred on my ipad)

3) Intelligent conversation

4) a Hug
(ever seen "Pushing Daisies"?)
Guy: "I'm not a big fan of hugs."
Girl: "Then you haven't been hugged properly. It's like an emotional Heimlich. Someone puts their arms around you and they give you a squeeze and all your fear and anxiety come shooting out of your mouth in a big wet 'what' and you can breath again. "

5) a really nice, rare steak (tear the horns off, slap it on the ass and send it out :> )

6) Being loved.

7) (ok, said six, so I'm going to group my only material things into one entry.... a stove (and cookware), a TV/dvd/vhs, a computer)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
conquering the universe and becoming overlord of all living things. Oh wait... sorry, that slipped out.
("Stewie" - Family Guy)
On a typical Friday night I am
most likely watching a good movie or (sigh) gaming.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
stealing a candy bar from the local convenience store WHEN I WAS 10...(apparently I had to clarify this)

...and getting caught.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18–99
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You're tired of the lame "players" (Read this as "guys in south Florida") online, and would like someone nice for a change. I've never cheated on a girlfriend my entire life, and never would, it's just "wrong" in my book...

Oh, and that you find it ironic that only one company produces "Monopoly" :)
