I love playing tourist. I like getting out to local events and the museums in the area, going hiking, and finding new things in my own neighborhood.

I'm a foodie. I love finding new hole in the wall restaurants to eat at (especially Mexican ones) and keeping my eyes open for those gourmet food trucks. Know where I can find any?

I am an American Sign Language Interpreter. I used to teach deaf kids, grades 4-12, but am now about to go back to school for my masters so I can teach at a college level. I love teaching. Seeing the light bulb go on over a student’s head when they get something just makes me want to jump for joy!

I am a Domestic Goddess
I LOVE to bake, cook, sew, scrapbook, make my own jam, and have recently stated a small garden. I think it’s so neat to put together all these raw ingredients and making them into something completely different, especially my grandmother’s old recipes.

I can take care of my own car
I drive a stick shift, installed my own car stereo, changed my oil and tires, and replaced the air filter.

I’m an Amazing Friend
I am always there to help a friend in need and support them when they need it. I’m the most non-judgmental person you’ll ever meet.

My dimples. I have to admit, I have the most adorable dimples.

BOOKS
I love historical fiction, especially based around World War II! I have no idea why, I just love it. :D
Favorites: the Clan of the Cave Bear series, Sarah’s Key, and Vienna Prelude Series.
I’m also a Neil Gaiman fan. Haven’t read them all, but they’re SO good!

All of the Star Trek movies, though my favorites are the next generation (Generations, First Contact, Insurrection, and Nemesis).

MUSIC
I listen to a lot of the alternative groups from the 80's and 90's. I like Depeche Mode (I’ve seen them in concert 4 times), The Cure, Duran Duran, U2, Oingo Boingo, Joy Division, OMD, Erasure, They Might be Giants, and many more. I also like new dance and electronic music. It isn't easy though to drive and dance at the same time, but I try ^_^

Car with a Manual Transmission
Automatic is boring. I feel like I have more power with a stick shift; like I’m a race car driver. How I would LOVE to drive a six speed transmission!

Coffee
Iced in the summer, hot in the winter. I’m not a caffeine junkie. I once went a whole week without any caffeine. I’m very proud.

iPod full of Good Music
Sometimes, music just makes the world a little happier. It can express emotions better than any words can.

What I'm going to do with myself next? How I can convince parents that their child can't hear them as well as they think, and why most parents don't sign with their deaf children.

Lately, I've been spending my weekends watching movies on the walls of the mausoleum at the local cemetery. Nice picnic, good wine, great movies, how can I resist?!

My guiltiest pleasure is dessert making. I've been told I make the best frozen cake balls: vanilla cake with sprinkles and butter cream frosting.
