This is the part where I tell you that I am funny, smart, easy
going, goal oriented, and just an all around awesome guy.
I love to read, mostly I get to read fun things such as text books
(currently reading about business accounting, you're jealous I
know) and children's books (currently we are reading Human Body: A
book with guts, my sons books are far more interesting). When I get
to pick what I want to read I go for Vonnegut, Gaiman,
Freakanomics, Why do men have nipples, and within the past year I
have read the first four books of the Song of Fire and Ice saga so
I am only about 20 years behind the curve. (Confession time: I have
read the first twilight book. It. Was. Awful.)
Paradoxes and non sequiturs are fun to think about, I think it's a
shame that Jersey Shore has been on tv for more than 42 seconds,
and I am a shameless information junkie.
What I’m doing with my life
A few years ago I decided where I was going in life was not where I
wanted to end up, (not that it would have been terrible, just not
what I wanted) so I did a hard reset of my life. Right now, my life
consists of going to school full time, I will be graduating within
the next few months, and raising my son full time.
I’m really good at
Being myself. Which is fortunate, as that is the only person I
really know how to be.
Also, I have recently learned I am good at writing an okcupid
profile that is "Below Average Annoyance". Just one example of how
awesome I am. ^_^
The first things people usually notice about me
Usually it's the hat I think, or the beard... that or just the
sheer level of awesomeness that I radiate. Gonna go with the
awesomeness I think.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite movies include Pi, Requiem for a Dream, Happiness, Ichi
the Killer, Akira, Dancer in the Dark (most depressing movie ever),
The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Battle Royale, Oldboy, and other
such goodies. I don't watch much television (I am a big Doctor Who
fan), what I normally get to watch are shows like He-Man, Iron Man,
Super Hero Squad, Ben 10 (are we noticing a trend here?). I do play
video games, and surf the interwebz, but they are hobbies and
treated as such. The music I listen to is mostly electronic, rock,
indie, metal, folk, and goth. I'm not a big fan of country (though
Hank Williams the first, the third, Patsy Cline, and Johnny Cash
are awesome), rap, or 17th century chamber music.
The six things I could never do without
It's hard to say that I would be unable to be without something,
but the things I would miss the most (not counting things like air,
water, my son):
My endless fascination with obscure physical phenomena (non
newtonian fluids are amazing)
A good story (happy ending not required)
The ability to be just me (if I couldn't be me I’d be so
Laughter, you have to hear laughter or your soul withers
The ability to learn.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why is blue? and Schrodinger's cat.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing the same thing I do every night - try and take over the
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
On here? To a world of random strangers? I am kind of a geek. That
and I know the lyrics to the Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam, and
Shaun the Sheep theme songs. ^^
You should message me if
You think the first 8 minutes of Up is a better love story than all
four twilight movies combined.
You are someone who is intelligent, and capable of deep
conversations. Someone who is emotionally independant and who is
able and willing to pursue their own interests (though you get
bonus points if you know when the narwhal bacons). Someone I can
laugh with, go on crazy adventures with, and who will stay up till
odd hours of the night discussing the ridiculous.
I have custody of my son about 85% of the time, so I do not have an
over abundance of free time. However, I am more than willing to
make the time for someone who is worth it.
TL;DR I won't murder you, I promise.
