If you don’t take a moment to look past the surface, you’re going to miss quite a bit. That applies to not only this profile and its wonderful author but to life in general. And I am indeed full of wonder. I am positively in awe of the beauty in this world – from the grandiose to the minuscule. Nature, art, music, and literature are treemendous sources of inspiration for me. I have the mind of a scientist and the soul of a poet, and am a very curious fellow – always observing and always learning. I take my time along the road less traveled to appreciate the finer details and special moments that make up life. This has given me an unique perspective and a much deeper understanding of the world around us.

Not to imply there aren’t some very fascinating things on the surface. I am very affectionate and enjoy getting out the Mr. Snuggleupagus costume, so there has to be a physical connection. And while that physical attraction is important, I am much more interested in its complement. There are many characteristics and traits that I value a great deal, but at the least I am looking for someone that eats a healthy diet, lives an active lifestyle, who will inspire me to be a better person, and has a great sense of humor. Mine has no boundaries, varying from the dry and sarcastic to...well, sometimes you wouldn't want to run into my sense of humor in a dark alley!

While I am ultimately and absolutely interested in a long-term relationship I believe in going slow. Right now I am just looking for someone to share fun times with. Let's get to know each other, share some experiences, make some memories, and if we enjoy each other's company only then can we start mentioning the 'f' word.

I've worked hard to have a great career, and I play just as hard. I like to explore and seek out new experiences. I have a lot of varied interests and believe life is meant to be enjoyed.

So I am, though wishing I had someone to share it with.

My dream is to live in the country while enjoying what enrichment the city has to offer, though regardless of where home is it will be surrounded by wildlife. I want a mini-homestead of sorts, so I can live with the land, as opposed to on it. Until then I'm doing whatever I can to live as healthy a lifestyle for both me and the environment.

Being open-minded, adaptable, oxymoronic, and resistant to labels. I'm atypical, unique, and just like all the others that think they are atypical and unique.

Euchre. Mimicking bird calls. Proofreading. Planning. Dreaming. Strategy. Creating a maze of words that leaves you happily lost within.

I'd like to think it's my eyes. Perhaps my constant looking around or watching the skies - I find birds and clouds particularly interesting. Butt it might be something else entirely...

The first thing I notice about other people: if they're left-handed or not. I secretly make fun of the latter.

I read a LOT. Depending on my mood I typically rotate between non-fiction, classics, and modern fiction. I feel naked without a new book or two at home. I also feel naked when I don't have any clothes on.

My top three favorite movie are Vitus, Into the Wild, and Good Will Hunting. I love Naked Gun/Airplane/Super Troopers types of comedies, and enjoy most genres except horror (my impressionable mind combined with an overactive imagination makes me vulnerable to nightmares).

I don't watch much TV at all, nor do I want to, so no cable. The only shows I see somewhat consistently are Family Guy reruns and Nature/Nova. I often question why I have a TV at all.

I always thought classic rock was fun to sing along with. I also am a fan of blues, jazz, classical, and anything else folksy or neat. Live music in smaller, more intimate venues: yes! Big, loud concerts: no. NPR.

It's not exclusive, but in the dining room I am fairly adventurous. I am all about variety and trying new dishes. I am a big supporter of local and/or organic foods. I'm excited to have joined my first CSA! Fast food is fast, but that's it. If the list below were expanded to seven sushi would make the cut.

Friends and Family.

I am fascinated with psychology and ethology. I enjoy watching, analyzing, and predicting behavior.

I've always felt a special relationship with the natural world, both in a spiritual sense as well as a scientific interest. Consequently I think about such things as GMOs, global warming, evolution, biodiversity, global carrying capacity, pollution, sustainability, etc. quite a bit. Topics such as these are a formidable test for my powers of optimism.

Generally speaking though my mind knows no boundaries. It wanders and wonders at its own pace.

As my Friday nights are Tuesday mornings, I'm usually asleep. Not quite the exciting answer you were looking for...

I can juggle. I also can wiggle my nostrils. That's the key to winning any staring contest - make the other person laugh!

I'm very open to the idea of relocating.

I enjoy playing a variety of sports so athleticism is certainly a plus. I am drawn to creative types (pun intended), and I find intelligence, an adventuresome spirit, and an open mind to be very attractive qualities.
