I like movies, theater, a wide taste of music. I like to play games, both video and otherwise (but not "head" games). I'm difficult to categorize, and often underestimated, but well worth taking a chance on, as I'm a delightful surprise.

I'm a bit of a secret romantic, as well as something of a closet freak. Now, don't let that "closet freak" statement weird you out - I don't have a strange fetish involving closets or other storage spaces; what I mean by that term is perhaps unintuitive. There's a lot of things I've got some interest in trying/experiencing and/or are open to, but haven't had the right opportunities/partners to do so with to this point. That's not just as pertains to sexuality - as an example, I've yet to find someone willing to go with me to try to get thrown out of a Toys 'r Us store for enthusiastically playing with toys meant for kids.

Right now, I'm really just looking to meet new people who have similar interests, to make new friends, and take things from there as they develop naturally.

I moved to Keller several months ago, and while I still shamefully have a few boxes sitting around upstairs, I want to explore and meet people and savor new(-to-me)ness. I seek both new friends that I can hang out with, pursue activities, play games, indulge in minor mischief, as well as a couple of special people (or maybe just one very special one) for a more intimate connection.

I love anime, good movies of almost any genre, good TV, a good book, computer games, plays . . . I've a voracious mind, I want to see or read or learn or experience something new. It can be informative or educational, or just pure fluff entertainment. Eventually, I want to skydive, bungee jump, parasail, learn to fly, see the ocean from within a submarine, make love in a hot air balloon gondola. I want to drive a varied host of exotic and fast cars: Aston Martin, Lotus, Lamborghini, Vauxhall, etc. I'm going to learn a few foreign languages, a martial art or two, and learn to fence, and learn kenjutsu. I'm very open to trying new things and new experiences.

I can be pretty sarcastic, I have a dry, dark humor sometimes, and I occasionally refer to myself as a cynic . . . but I secretly really like to believe in hope.

I've got a very big weakness for punk/goth/alt type girls. Tattoos, piercings, interesting hair colors, artistic, creative types, nerdy girls . . . You already have my attention, now show me it's worth keeping. That's not to say that more conventional looks are out, that's definitely not the case - the Suicide/Gods Girls look just smacks both my mind and libido upside the face.

Adapting to my new home in DFW, exploring the huge new variety of places to see, things to do, people to meet, tastes to experience.

Looking for someone to have some fun with and enjoy our time together. I'm not out looking for marriage or any particular long-term concept, but if the right person and I happen to come together, it's certainly not something I'd rule out.

I work in technology, and I'm always having to learn and adapt - and from that (or perhaps the other way around) I tend to be a quick learner.

Finding things with Google/other search engines. My Google-fu is Strong.

Inadvertently breaking things and hence uncovering bugs or other problems.

Making people smile.

Quickly forming mental pictures (sometimes, not a good thing).

Oral sex. Or so I'm told.

I had no idea on this one. So, I asked some folks. Here's the answer I like best so far:

"You have a good smile, that shows you're smart, and full of humor."

My eyes have also gotten remarked upon many times.

Oh, this is a tough one. Anything on these lists is going to be fluid, changing, and incomplete at any given time.

Books: Practically anything written by Terry Pratchett. Any good fantasy or sci-fi (too many authors to list). I've got a particular love for Cyberpunk, but have a hard time finding much of it. Steven King, Eric Van Lustbader, Michael Crichton, Robin Hobb, A.C. Crispin, George R. R. Martin, . . . I like to read a lot. Where's the Netflix service for books? (and yes, I'm familiar with that "library" concept)

Movies: Time Bandits, The Last Starfighter, The Rainmaker, The Shawshank Redemption, Fight Club, Aliens, Groundhog Day, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Princess Bride, Grosse Pointe Blank, True Lies, Shaun of the Dead . . . just to name a few. Well, several.

Music: varied and eclectic. Metal, Techno, Rock, Classical, Jazz, J-pop . . . almost anything other than Rap and most Country (though there are a -few- exceptions). My boss at work has been expanding my exposure to Rap, and while there's still a lot of junk, I'm finding more of it that I like. Some of my favorites are Roxette, Dream Theater, Yoko Kanno, Metallica, Tori Amos, Guns 'n Roses, Sigur Rós, Blue October. I've heard tons of different things since I last rewrote this section, and liked some, hated some, and some ambivalent about some. If it's something new to me, I'll give it a chance. It might be awesome. It might be crap. I'm willing to find out.

Food: Good food of most types/cultures, including Asian (Chinese, Thai, Japanese), Sushi, Pizza, Italian, Mexican, BBQ. Not fond of curry. Allergic to Almonds.

Bacon is like meat candy. I really enjoy a truly good burger (I'm thrilled since my move that there are 5 Guys, and lots of other places to explore and try. I hear good things about Twisted Root...), and a good steak properly cooked (typically medium-rare, depending on the cut) is almost a work of art. In your mouth.

I am decidedly carnivorous, but if you don't do meat (vegetarian, vegan, Venusian Bean Sprout diet, whatever) I don't mind or care, so long as you don't take issue with my mastication of delicious animal flesh.

TV: Doctor Who, Torchwood, Dexter, Mythbusters, House, Chuck, Dirty Jobs, How it's Made, Top Gear, True Blood, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, more. If you know what Top Gear (the proper version, not the pale imitation on The History Channel) is and enjoy it, then you've already earned my respect. I recently caught up on ALL of Archer, and I'm a bit into Lost Girl now.

Entirely too many things.

One recurring theme (I'm sure others will pop up, I'll just come back and add to this over time) is how messed up this country is with its puritanical founding views. I think it's ludicrous that so many in the nation are uptight prudes who find the concepts of sex or the naked human body to be such horrid, evil things and oh-so-harmful, but regular graphic displays of violence seem to be just fine.

More recently, why I seem to have such high match percentages with 19-24 year old college girls.

I'd like to think that there shouldn't be a "typical" Friday night, but Odland's options were very limited. DFW offers so vastly much more, now I'm usually out exploring and experiencing. Preferably with a female companion of the attractive and interesting persuasion. I used to say "or in with friends" but since my move I need to develop new friends here so that can once again become an option.

I went out one Friday night with a friend and ended up being one of -very- few white guys in Club Tequila, and certainly the only white guy on the dance floor that night.
