My self-summary
"There's a skeleton in everybody's closet.
I can think of one or two in my own room.
But I would like to introduce them both to you;
You'd shake their bony hands and so dispel the gloom.

'Cause you're so kind ,
I know you would not mind,
And send away the ghosts that haunt me now.
And the things I fear
Just wouldn't seem so near.
And when I stroll out late at night,
There would be nothing rattling at my heels."
-Crashtest Dummies

I'm two parts confident, one part pensive, three parts romantic, and two parts goofball. That's eight parts. Impressed? Most guys exaggerate about their parts, but not this guy.

I feel weird giving myself compliments, but that's what this section's for, right? Then I'll just get right to it: I'm smart - not book-smart, or tech savvy, but I'm really good at reasoning; I love facing a problem devoid of correct or incorrect answers and breaking them down and rebuilding them. I'm also creative - I love writing and acting; really any form of expression comes easily to me. Being a novelist is my dream job. I have so many stories to tell, and one thing I've always loved is reaching out to people, and changing the way they think, or giving them something new to think about - even if it's only a tiny bit.

That same thing that motivates me as a writer has a huge influence in my relationships: I have a lot of love to give, and I always make sure to express it. Sometimes that expression comes out as words, sometimes as actions, but it's always genuine, and it's always corny.

A more tangible part of my self-summary is that I'm a father. I get my daughter two days a week currently. I love her with all my heart, and even with some extra hearts, because I couldn't fit it all in one. She looks a lot like her mother, but I can already tell her personality's a lot like her daddy's. I never knew a person could be so serious and so goofy at the same time. I do my best to teach her things every time I'm with her, but I think she's the one teaching me.

"Like the north wind whistling down the sky,
I've got a song.
I've got a song.

Like the Whip-poor-will, and the baby's cry,
I've got a song.
I've got a song.

And I carry it with me, and I sing it loud.
If it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud.

Moving me down the highway,
Rolling me down the highway,
Moving ahead so life won't pass me by."
-Jim Croce
What I’m doing with my life
I work for a textiles factory as the quality lead. It's basically just taking naps on memory foam mattresses, reading scary books under the covers with a flashlight, and starting pillow fights.
I’m really good at
finding humor in things, public speaking, writing and acting. Get it?
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes are apparently spectacular.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
For someone who wants to be a novelist, my book reading is definitely lackluster. It takes a lot for me to start reading a book, but once I do, I usually finish it, despite its quality. My go-to books are usually Sci-Fi, Survival, or Fantasy.
Animorphs, Harry Potter, World War Z

I work at a movie theater on the weekends. It used to be my main job, and I've worked for the same company for over seven years now, so I see a lot of movies. It's turned me into a very hard-to-impress movie critic. Sometimes I wish I wasn't so picky, though.
Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny, Dan in Real Life, John Carter, Kick Ass, Sucker Punch, Cabin in the Woods, Paranorman

I recently realized that I watch next to no TV anymore. Weird.
Clone High, Scrubs, Futurama, Archer, The Whitest Kids You Know, How I Met Your Mother

Jazz is my favorite genre, and I could literally leave it playing in my head 24 hours a day and never get sick of it. The only genres I actively avoid are Country and Rap. My favorite bands outside the Jazz genre in no particular order are:
John Hiatt, Crashtest Dummies, Tenacious D, The Walflowers, Barenaked Ladies, Billy Joel, Bloodhound Gang, Elvis Presley, Jim Croce, Earth Wind and Fire, Oingo Boingo, Queen, Styx, Rush

Not Mexican, Not Indian
The six things I could never do without
Google, O2, Pipes, Flash drives, sustenance, H2O.
Not necessarily in that order.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how to survive the zombie apocalypse, and why 90% of the girls on OKCupid name their profiles after dinosaurs.
On a typical Friday night I am
belting it at karaoke and breaking hearts.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I play Dungeons and Dragons. All the time. Big whoop, wanna fight about it?
