I notice these "about me" sections speak more about what we enjoy, rather than who we are. So, here is my feeble effort to capture "who I am" in a paragraph:

I love people. People make me happy, humbled, inspired, invigorated, and overjoyed. In the absence of good company, no man can thrive. I find a great deal of pleasure in life and the many phenomena in it, such as love, compassion, and sacrifice. My love of people and life is what dictates my ethics, rather than dogma. I'm honest because I would hate to live in a web of lies, with no true companions that love me for me. I'm far from perfect though. I have learned and grown by making plenty of mistakes.

Well, that is the best I can do to capture the "me" that drives all of my interests.

A little bit about my likes... I have eclectic tastes in food, music, and entertainment. I enjoy going to a ballgame as much as an opera. I love live jazz and hole-in-the-wall music venues. I like badminton, hiking, yoga, and rock climbing. I play the ukulele and piano. I am a foodie, but I try to eat health conscious most of the time. I love to cook. A night in with a great meal and a good wine is heaven. I'm a wine and whiskey buff. So, if you like tastings and trips to Napa, then we already have a lot in common. ;)

I work and go to school full-time. I also volunteer at a crisis hotline. I'm currently applying to psychology PhD programs. I hope to work on education reform, and potentially teach at a university. I'm not someone who is into money. I live to enjoy life and experience it. I'd much rather take a long trip than buy a Mercedes. I travel once a year, and would like to live abroad again, if possible. Tell me about your trips and I'll tell you about mine. :)

listening and understanding what you are going through; being a thoughtful friend and companion; compromising to solve disputes; learning just about anything; fixing things around the house and doing remodels; planning small and large surprises to make you smile.

I asked a couple of friends what their first impressions were... They said I was very positive and outgoing. But, that how genuine and open I was is what truly caught their attention.

Books: Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH, Poets Corner, The Iliad and The Odyssey, etc.

Shows: Mad Men, Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, and Game of Thrones.

I LOVE movies, far too many movies to list them all... But some of my favorite are: Stranger Than Fiction, Sideways, Somethings Gotta Give, As Good As It Gets, The Burbs, Sense and Sensibility, Love Actually, LotR trilogy, Godfather I and II, the Matrix, etc.

Food: sushi, hot pot (Boiling Point), curry, Mediterranean, carne asada burrito from Albert's, Ahi sliders, couscous and vegetables, anything seafood, just about anything healthy and delicious.
No fast food..except a rare In-N-Out burger.

Everything!!! Things on my to do list, solutions to our economic crisis, solutions to education deficiencies, who I want to be and how to achieve that, ways to make my potential future children feel loved and end up being responsible & caring adults.

My mind is constantly pondering and playing out scenarios in the background, while I handle the day to day stuff.

Studying, having a small dinner party, or out with friends.

I sing... In the shower, in the car, and at a karaoke bar.

I'm looking for: someone sweet, spontaneous, and witty. Yet, she is also responsible, a deep-thinker, and committed. I am interested in a long-term relationship, but I want to build that over time. For now, let's get together, exchange some laughs and see if we have chemistry.
