I own my own home and in a few months my car will be paid off and I've decided to live a debit free life.
I'm also re-discovering the beautiful city of Houston. I've joined several networking groups and try to attend as many happy hours and get together as I can. I found that my life had just become stagnant going to the same places while in town and wanted to try new things. Want to go on an adventure?
I'm also fantastic at cooking. I took care of my elderly father (now gone) for several years who was used to eating fast food so I slowly changed out diet from Jack in the Box to pasta and baked salmon and parmesan encrusted pork chops. It's a lot more healthy and delicious.
Oh and I make obscure references quite often. The other day in the office the owner said something about going down the rabbit hole as a reference to getting deep into a project and I spurted out "watch out for anything labeled eat me or drink me. That never turns out well" It went over about as well as could be expected in our environment. (IE it was awesome)
TV and Movies I enjoy anything that does not drag on too long. I prefer comedy over horror.
My Car - Houston is a big city and being able to get around... Have you ever tried to take the bus?
My Kids - They are the reason I work so hard.
The Internet - I mean have you tried to learn something new without it lately?
The ability to cook - And I'm dam good at it!
My Family - They are always there when I'm in need.
But seriously lately it has been about how I can help others and give back. Not just helping financially but I also take people in and teach them to budget and try to get them on the right track in their personal lives. I just want all the people around me to be happy.
Oh!And most importantly what's for lunch because I'm starving.
I had this brilliant plan while growing up to have kids early in life. The thought was since I was going to be young broke and struggling I would just add to that so once I am settled in my career my kids would be old enough to experience things with me not anchors keeping me at home. Now I'm 30+ with teenagers and we can travel and do whatever we want. My buddy just had a new baby and hasn't been outside his house on a weekend in months... So my plan is great!
Oh and if you want to sing this with me at karaoke:
