I've done these self-summaries before and they really never turn out very well. I guess here's a go though....
I work full time as a psychiatry researcher during the day and do the graduate school thing at night. I'd like to think I have a fun-filled social life outside of that, and when I find downtime I like to sit back and vegetate just a bit. None of that even begins to describe why i'm worth getting to know.

I just moved out into my first apartment without a roommate, and that experience has been great. As a bachelor, i've managed to keep my collection of hot-rod posters and bikini models in check. The boxes are unpacked and things are on the wall, and i'm no longer eating fast food only. Between that and my (still fresh) career path, i'm feeling pretty good about where I am in life right now.

As a personal disclaimer, I try not to take myself or other things too seriously. I can be passionate when I feel the need to be, but I don't let that rule my thoughts. If things are going pretty badly in my day, it's not unusual for me to try to crack a really, really bad joke about it.

I believe I jumped the gun and mentioned this part already....outside of work and school, i've been known to occasionally go out to every single bar I can and uh...drink. And dance, if I drink enough. I really love to cook, but I treat it like an event, try to have fun with it and drink lots of wine...did I mention i'm a wine snob?
I used to find time for artsy things, but then I bought a pair of turntables and started collecting vinyl, and now I tend to practice that a lot when I can. On the other hand, if you find you're looking to book an up and coming DJ for a nice hipster style electro house show, i'm your man.

If you like traveling, you're in very good company.

I am fantastic at Dance Dance Revolution. I only wish I were kidding, but get a few in me and I might just make a believer out of you.

The glasses. If not the glasses, then my outfits. I don't know why people find it so hard to believe that a guy can know how to dress, but then again we do live in Texas.
Sidenote: I do not own cowboy boots.

Breaking out the english nerd in me (books): A Confederacy of Dunces, In Cold Blood, The Great Gatsby, Catcher in the Rye, Barrel Fever...David Sedaris is hilarious in person, by the way.

Music: Not going to list bands here, but i'm 99% certain that if you look through my collection, you'll find at least one band you like too. Lately it's all about the indie pop though, won't lie.

Movies: The Science of Sleep, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the Fountain, Shaun of the Dead, The Dark Knight, Bananas, anything MST3K.
I love mindless entertainment as much as I love an artsy film.

Food: I forgot about food. I love food. Wait, scratch that: I love good food. I'll eat about anything once, and i'll go back twice if it's local, fresh, and well-done. I have to force myself to stay away from indian buffets. I also have no problem spending a lot on dinner, as long as it's delicious...

Where i'm going to eat next. Actually, just figuring out whatever i'm doing next, period. I try not to act like a lost puppy when I can help it.

Most likely drinking. When possible, I prefer to drink in the N St. Mary's area, or on Broadway. I've been known to dance occasionally as well...

I'm a nice guy, and only about half as arrogant as I sound.

You find anything that vaguely interests you. Or even if you don't. I promise to make you laugh, as long as you appreciate a British sense of humor with a bit of Woody Allen thrown in...
