My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Here's where I attempt to distill the essence of myself into a little box of text and hope it's sufficient to catch your interest.

First and foremost, I'm a nerd. You have to be okay with that. I love books and comics and movies and video games and Dungeons and Dragons. I like fantasy and imagining the impossible. I like getting lost in other worlds, or analyzing those worlds and stories from every possible angle.

I love science, biology, and environmental science. It's what I went to school for. I hope to be able to apply that to my life somehow.

I've been told I'm an unironic person. I suppose that means what you see is what you get. That's not to say I don't have hidden depths, but I am honest and kind, almost to a fault. I've been universally told that I'm sweet. Unless I'm tired, in which case I become grumpy.

I'm not sure what I'm looking for here, but I guess I can start with just talking to interesting people and seeing where it goes from there.

I feel like it's very difficult to summarize oneself in these little digital boxes, so consider this a trailer of sorts.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work as an arborist, looking for damage to native trees by invasive insects. Which basically means I spend my days looking at trees.

I enjoy creative pursuits, such as drawing and writing. It's not uncommon to find me with my nose buried in a sketchbook. I'm working on editing several novels that I hope will one day be published.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cooking, baking, drawing and sketching, writing, science, biology, making people laugh, discussing nerdy things, making long trains of terrible puns.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
People keep telling me I have really nice eyes and great hair. What did you notice first?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

My favorite fiction genres are fantasy, science fiction, and superhero fiction. A list of every book, movie and show I like would be extensive, but the highlights include:

Books: Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, The Magicians, A Song of Ice and Fire, Harry Potter, the Discworld series, The Milkweed Triptych, American Gods, Soon I Will Be Invincible, Macbeth (plays totally count), Watchmen, The Mistborn trilogy. For comics, I'm currently keeping up with X-Men, Ms. Marvel, and Rat Queens.

Movies: The Incredibles, The Avengers, Star Wars, Skyfall, Spirited Away, The Lord of the Rings, Kill Bill.

Shows: Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, The Legend of Korra, Fringe, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Adventure Time, Venture Bros, Carnivale, Orange is the New Black, Gravity Falls, The Sopranos.

My favorite foods are just as difficult to list. The better question is what don't I like, but some of my favorite consumables include pasta (in all forms), cheese, chocolate, sandwiches, bagels, coffee, tea, breakfast foods (omelets, egg sandwiches, potatoes, pancakes, you name it....), pastries of all kinds, typical Asian and Middle East goes on and on.
The six things I could never do without

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Which superhero would win in a fight.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm not a big party person. I prefer spending Friday evenings with my friends, possibly with drinks and a movie or some sort of game. I also have no problem with just laying in bed and reading or playing video games for hours on end.

That or Dungeons and Dragons. One of my favorite things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You've rated me highly. I don't have A-List so I won't be able to see you otherwise.
I'm pretty open to talking, so just message me if I seem interesting and you'd like to get to know me better!
A message with more effort put into it than "hi" or "what's up?" is much more likely to catch my attention.
